(Hensel Phelps Co. photo) BIGGEST PROJECT -- The largest project to date for Hensel Phelps Construction Co. has been the Kodak-Colorado complex. The Greeley construction firm erected the initial six buildings in the complex, some 1.7 million square feet. Hensel Phelps currently is at work on two other Kodak complex structures totaling 750,000 square feet. Some 457 voters gave their approval for the bond issue which will be used to construct a new 600-student high school. The Windsor board has in- ciated work on the facility will begin in late May or early June depending on the weather and the securing of bids for various work phases. Architectural plans call for the construction of several separate buildings along the line of the campus-plan design. Each building will house segments of the educational program and will feature the latest in equipment and design. The design allows for a growth increase up lo 1,600 with additional construction added to the main facilities as growth demands. The expandable campus areas will allow for a maximum of 85,000 square feet. The Windsor high site will include two holding ponds to serve as irrigation facilities and provide outdoor science labs for the science program. School District Re-1 was second in the last year with capital construction of a new wing onto the Platteville Middle School. The new rooms will accommodate four classes that were housed in the old Platteville high school building. The building was condemned by the state industrial commission and the addition was approved to house the students. The addition will house 150 students in the fifth, sixth and seventh grades on a rotating basis in the open concept. Dividers will be erected in a portion of the wing to accommodate audio-visual equipment and a seminar room. Platte Valley School District Re-7 also added a facility, a $112,000 vocational education 'wing on the high school. The four-month project now houses the agricultural, home economic and vocational programs offered in the district. Prior to its completion the programs were housed in temporary metal buildings adjacent to the south parking lot. Greeley School District Six last year appropriated over $100,000 for construction improvements that will continue through the end of the present school year.
