It is a system that enables an individual to use the touchtonc tele- plio'ne keyboard to pat information into and take it out of electronic computers. By using various combinations of letters and numerals, distinctive sounds are sent over telephone wires. At the other end, a translator decodes the message to make it understandable to the computer.
