I The Muncie Evening Press Page 6 Monday, December 7, 1987 obituaries Margaret E. Carey Margaret E. Carey, 92, former resident of Chateau Apartments, died Sunday morning in Chateau Convalescent Center. A Muncie native, she was the daughter of John E. and Mary Ryan Carey.

She attended St. Lawrence School, Central High School and Muncie Business College. After completing her business education, she was 5 employed for four years as a secretary in the law firm of McClellan, Hensel and Guthrie. She next became an employee of Internal Revenue Service, which maintained a division office in the Johnson Block, then at the northeast corner of Charles and Walnut. She subsequently worked for the service in Washington and Philadelphia.

Miss Carey remained with the IRS many years before retiring and returning to Muncie. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Survivors include four nieces, Mrs. John (Marjorie) Drayer and Mrs.

William (Joan) Creviston, both of Muncie, Mrs. Frank (Rosemary) Loy, Phoenix, and Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Gibson, Bloomington; four nephews, John, Mark and Mayor James P. Carey, all of Muncie, and Maurice Carey, Phoenix, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m.

Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling hours are 2-5 p.m. Tuesday at Meeks Mortuary.

The rosary will be recited there at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Dovie M. Felton Dovie M. Felton, 72, a resident of Fountainview Place Convalescent Center, died there early today.

She had been in failing health for several years. Born in Carthage, she had resided in the Muncie area since the early 1940s. She was the widow of Harlon Walter Felton, who died in 1963. Mrs. Felton retired in 1977 from Muncie Novelty Company, where she had worked for 16 years.

Survivors include a son, Weston "Bud" Hornback, Muncie; three daughters, Carleen Lawson Delaney, Patricia Medecke and Rose Rhamey, all of Muncie; two brothers, James Buck, Dow City, Iowa, and Virgil Ava, 13 grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren. Arrangements are pending at Conrad-Piepho Funeral Home. Clint 'Bob' Montague Muncie native Clint "Bob" Montague, 59, died Saturday following a brief illness in West Covina, Calif. Mr. Montague spent most of his life in the Muncie area, moving to California nine years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Fields Montague; four daughters, Joy Montague and Dawn Montague, both of West Covina, Debra Ivy, Muncie, and Madeline Scott, Oklahoma City, a sister, Lee Price, Oakland, seven grandchildren; and two aunts. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Angeles Mortuary, Los Angeles, Calif. Memorials may be sent to the Los Angeles Cancer Society. Conrad R.

Hunt MODOC, Ind. Conrad R. Hunt, 96, died Sunday in Ball Hospital, Muncie. He was a lifelong resident of Modoc and a retired farmer. He had been an evangelistic singer for more than 30 years, and was a member of Modoc Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include two sons, Sei- Edgar Schmidt Schmidt etery for the past 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Grace Bird Schmidt, to whom he had been married 47 years in August; two sons, Larry E. Schmidt, Leesburg, and Jerry L. Schmidt, Decatur, two daughters, Mrs. DeWaine (Evelyn) McGunegill, Eaton, Mrs.

Born in Delaware County, Mrs. Cole lived in Muncie until 1977 when her husband died. She then moved to Indianapolis before moving to New Mexico in 1981. Eventually she moved to Shoals to live with her sister, Starr Brown Cunnington, who died Nov. 17.

Mrs. Cole was formerly a beauty operator. She also worked for local animal shelters. Carson Carson Wells, 86, 6451 W. Franwood, Yorktown, died Sunday in Ball Hospital.

A native of Randolph County, he was the son of William and Flora Hildreth Wells. He moved to Muncie when he was 17. He was employed at Warner Gear (now BorgWarner Automotive, Transmission Systems) for 46 1967. Mr. Kingston Anderson, Mr.

Wells Mr. Wells years prior to retiring in Wells was a member of Avenue Baptist Church in United Auto Workers HARTFORD CITY, Ind. Nila Lee Lynch, 50, 1013 S. Monroe, died Sunday morning in Ball Hospital, Muncie. Her father, Wayne R.

Grover, is a Muncie resident. A lifelong resident of the Blackford County area, she was employed by Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Gas City. Other survivors include a brother, William H. Grover, Hartford City; two sisters, Becky A.

Williams, Marion, and Norma R. Lori, Ypsilanti, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Wayne Lynch, and a daughter, Cindy K. Lynch. Services will be at 10 a.m.

Tuesday in Keplinger Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hartford City Cemetery. Calling hours are 6-9 p.m. today. and before services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lydia L. Mendenhall, 86, died Saturday in Chrystal's Country Home in Parker City. Mrs. Mendenhall was native of Randolph County and lived in Farmland before moving to the nursing home. She had been a cook at Farmland High School and had worked at two restaurants in the Farmland area.

She was a member of the Farmland Friends Church and the Friends Missionary Society. Surviving are a son, Paul Men- denhall, Farmland; a daughter," Mrs. John (Mildred) Gable, Losant-. ville; a brother, Byron McCormick, Winchester; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband, Gilbert, died in 1982.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Miller Mortuary chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery near Farmland. Calling hours at the mortuary are 4-9 p.m. today and before services Tuesday.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert L. Brown, Albuquerque, N.M., and Benjamin Brown, Whiteland; and four nieces, Dee Wallace, Severna Park, Deborah Mork, Tucson, Judy Lanning, Edgewood, and Robin Dupere, Fall River, Mass. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Beech Grove Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Meeks Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be sent to any local animal protection organization. Wells Council, Delaware Masonic Lodge 46, and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. Surviving are his wife, Martha Wells; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Martha Jean) Hoover, Port Charlotte, a granddaughter, Jean Ann Nash, Clearwater, three grandchildren; a sister, N.

Jean Summa, Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Meeks Mortuary Chapel. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Calling is 5-9 p.m.

Ogle Former Albany resident Myrtle Pearlena Ogle, 65, Cincinnati, died Saturday in Bethesda Base Hospital in Cincinnati after a long illness. Born in Morehead, she moved to Albany as a young girl and moved to Cincinnati about 45 years ago, where she was employed in various nightclubs as a waitress. While living in Albany, she attended the United Pentecostal Church in Dunkirk.

She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose in Cincinnati. Surviving are her sons, Mike Ogle, Illinois, Tim and Jeff Ogle, both of Cincinnati, and Rick Ogle, Roanoke, three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Joyce) Adams, Mrs. Wilbur (Juanita) Gannon and Mrs. Noel (Edna) Sparks, all of Albany; a brother, Lindon Willoughby, Fordsville, eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Blackburn. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Gardens of Memory. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Parson-Rust Funeral Home, Albany.

Dollie Pauline Ellington Losantville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Antioch Christian Church, Losantville. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours are 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.

Tuesday in Culberson Funeral Dollie Pauline Ellington, 88, formerly of 205 W. Memorial and more recently a resident of Albany Nursing Care, died Sunday evening in Ball Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Henry County. She moved to Oklahoma in 1928 and back to Muncie in 1931. Survivors include her sons, Roy Dobbs, Parker City, Ben Dobbs, Albany, and Glen Ellington, Muncie; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Burial will follow in Blountsville Cemetery..
