Power Plant, Bypass, Afterbay, and Siphon Begun at Pole Hi Pajje 12 GKEELEY DAILY TRIBUNE Thursday. Pole Hill is the first of the foothills power plants below Lake Estes. In the three photographs the same letters refer to the same things when a structure appears in more than one picture. From the east portal of Polo Hill tunnel, a ditch curves around the top edge ol the mountain to a small basin at the top of the mountain, hack ol the point marked G. Down the east side of the mountain from to a single penstock will drop to the power plant In pit at F. Directly opposite the penstock on the toil of the mountain, a cut thru solid rock has 'been made to- the west for a bypass. This is necessary for emergency diversion of water around the power plant in event of mechanical trouhel there. This bypass spills water Into Hell Creefc in Hell Creek canon on the west side of the mountain.

Ac tually, the bird takes Its name from its structure. The head Is tomato, the nose and toes are pieces of carrot, the body is a green pepper, the legs are string beans, and the tall is a piece of ear corn. Donald's bird created quite a stir at the Washington school fair. He got the Idea from the Weekly Reader, a national publication for elementary students.

He Is a second grader. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Henry live at 1015 by Wayne Williams. Nearly 35 officers of the Salvation Army from all of eastern Colorado and Southern Wyoming will con vene in Greeley on Friday for spe cial Salvation Army Officers coun cils.

Under the leadership of U. Col. and Mrs. John Erlckson, the divisional leaders from Denver, two special sessions of gatherings be held at 10:00 o'clock and again In the afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. At noon there will be a special dinner together.

This Is the first time in a number of years that gatherings of this sort have been held in Greeley and the hosts, Senior Captain and Mrs. Clayton as well as the members of. the local corps all feel rather elated over the honor of having the gatherings here. The Chapel on Seventh street has been completely renovated through the efforts of local'members and their families." Jerry says Oatburner Is an idial horse fast, obedient, and fun to be with. Why, says Jerry, Oatburner hardly eats anything at all and his upkeep doesn't amount to a whinny. Riding a horse Is rough on Jerry's shoei, since he must do all of Oatburner's footwork. Jerry, a flrnt grader, Is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
