rind Mrs. Joseph O'Donnell, 521 Jennings were' married at 1:00 o'clock Saturday noon, August 11, in the rectory of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic church in Sioux City. Rev. Newman Flknagin read the ceremony in the presence of relatives and friends. The bride wore a white suit and white accessories and a corsage of white and yellow gladioli.

The groom was attended by a friend. Jay Burke. Mrs. Grady wore a teal blue dress and corsage of yellow gladioli. Mrs.

O'Donnell wore a dress and a corsage of orange gladioli. After the ceremony the reception was held at home of the bride's parents for 250 guests. Assisting were Mrs. Lester Stinton, Mrs. Ray Burke, Mrs.

Leo Pflanz, Misses Grace Montague and Patricia Goebel. A supper was served beginning at 6 o'clock. The bride was born at Graa- ville, attending St. Joseph scriool and after moving to Sioux City attended Heela.i High. The bridegroom is stationed at Dow Air Field with the 174lh Fighter Bomber Squadron.

They left Sunday for their home at 12 Eaton Place. Banbor, Maine. Relatives attending from Granville were Mr. and Mrs. Nick Schwebach, Mrs.

Rav Koob and Carol, Miss Minnie Bussannius, Mr. and Mrs, Harry Bussanmus and Claris, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Grady and Donna and Mr. and Mrs.

and Mrs. Clarence Croat Rites Thursday For Mrs. P. Croat Funeral services were held Thursday morning, August 9, afi 9:00 o'clock in St. Joseph's church, for Mrs.

Frances Croat, of Granville, who died Monday morning, August 6, in McKennan hospital, Sioux Falls, at the age of 78 years, after a several months illness. Rev. F. F. Dalhoff officiated at the Requiem High Mass assisted by St.

Joseph Choir. Mrs. Croat was a faithful member of St. Joseph Parish and also the Christian Mother's Confraternity. Burial was made in the family lot in St.

Joseph cemetery by Frazier Funeral Home of Hawarden. Pallbearers were A. J. Miller, George Borman, Arnold Muehl, John Hodapp, Adolph Fischer and Art Schemmel. Frances Domnisse was September 22, 1872 in Wisconsin, daughter of John and Frances Domnisse and moved with her parents to Iowa when a child.

On December 8, 1890, she was married to Peter Croat. They settled on a farm south of Granville. Mr. Croat passed away August 5, 1938. Surviving are two daughters and two sons namely: Mrs.

Joe Miller, Lena, of Sioux Falh; Mrs. Ray Schemmel. Bertha, of Granville; Leo and Clarence Croat of Granville; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Josephine man of Canby, Mrs. Kate I Barr of Sioux City; Mrs.

Lena Hilgert of Clark, S. Leo Domnisse of Redwood City, and Henry Domnisse of Cleghorn, Iowa. A daughter, Martha, passed away at the age of five and a son, Fred, of Adrian, died there on December -25, 1949. Relatives coming from a distance were Mr. and Mrs.

Clarence Barr, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Calhoun of Sioux City; Mrs. Rose Croat of Adrian, Mr. and Mrs.

Wilfred Croat, of Beaver, Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Boats and Melvin Croat of Rushmore, Mrs. Josephine Hackman, Mrs. Fritz Reike and children of Canby, Mr.

and Mrs. Cyril Hackman of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Hackman, Mr.

and Mrs. Peter Honacker of Canton, S. Frances Rothenbuehler, Lucille and Karen, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Boelter, Mrs.

Hager. Mrs. Henry Shulte, Frank Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Miller of Sioux Falls, S.

Mrs. Will Meyers, Mrs. George Wintz and daughters, Joe and Leonard Schemmel of Milford, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Bixeman of Henry Domnisse of Cleghorn, and Mr.

Brown of Marcus. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Schwebach, Mrs. Ray Koob and daughters were Sheldon visitors Wednesday.

Mrs. R. I. Lund motored to Carroll, Iowa, Tuesday accompanied by Miss Emily Bachmann who spent the day visiting her sister, Miss Alice Bachmann and by Mrs. John Hodapp, Misses Ruth Mouser, Celeste and Donna Grady, who were optometric patients of Dr.

O. M. O'Connor. M. H.

Perlot, Mrs. LeRoy Perlot and son, Bobby Lee were business callers in Sheldon Wednesday. Mrs. Joe Reim and daughter, Mrs. Ray Budden, accompanied Art Holies to Orange City Tuesday on business.

Mr. and Mrs. V. J. O'Connor motored to Rockford, 111.,.

Monday, accompanied by their daughter, Mrs. R. I. Lund and son, Dicky, daughter Janice, who returned to fiieir home in Rockford after spending six weeks in the parental O'Connor home here. Miss Celeste Grady left for her home in Danbury, Thursday, after spending a few days with her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. C. S. Grady. Miss Ruth ATuers, who, employed in Sioux City during the summer, arrived Monday to spend a month at the home ri her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Wm. P. Ahlers before resuming her studies at Briar Cliff college in September. Mr.

and Mrs. Bernard Forkenbrock of Pocahontas, Iowa, called on friends here Monday on their way to Alton where they purchased a home. Mr. Forkenbrock will be a teacher in St. Mary's high school in September.

They were accompanied by Mrs. S. Karhoff who spent, the day here visiting at the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. F.

B. Schutz. Mr. and Mrs. George Schmitz of Los Angeles, last week to visit at the home of Mrs.

Schmitz's sister, Miss Rose Flschbach. Matt Goergen departed last week for his summer home at Pequot Lake, after spending several days here, attending to his farm interests. Peter Schwebach, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schwebach, received an injured knee Sunday when he fell from a bicycle.

He wa.s treated at the Orange City hospital, Mr. and Mrs. Al Schemmel left for their horne in Marshalltown, Saturday after spending several days in the parental Lawrence Spieler home. Mr. A.

M. Beck of Remsen drove to Omaha Thursday accompanied by Mrs. V. J. O'Connor and daughter, Mrs.

I. Lund where Mrs. O'Connor purchased lioliday gifts and toys for Beck store in Granville. Mike Caspar of Alton was here on business Saturday. Miss Vernis Hodapp of Sioux City spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. John Hodapp. Earl Muehl of Indianapolis, spent Saturday and Sunday here with his mother, Mrs. Phil Muehl. Mr.

and Mrs. Lawrence Feller and family drove to to spend the day visiting at the home of Mrs. Feller's mo'ther, Mrs. Lillian Thofman, who recently retvu-a- ed home from Minneapolis where she had received treatment on her eyes. Mrs.

Feller also visited her sister, Mtii. Clarence Thorman of Minneapolis, who brought her mother home. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Soever of Remsen formerly of Granville and Mr.

and Mrs. Mike Beelner and daughter departed Monday on a trip to California to visit the Boever's son, who will soon leave for overseas. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meyer of Madison, came Thursday for an over night stay at the home of their niece, Mrs.

Jennie Diedrich and on Friday they drove to Marcus and Remsen where they visited at the homes of Mr. Meyer's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyer and sister, Mrs. Albert Schutz.

Pvt. Leslie Full, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Full, is spending an 18-day furlough at the home of his parents. He is sta- at Denver.

Colo. Miss' Claris Ahlers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. P.

Ahlers, spent a weeks vacation at the home of her aunt. Miss Rose Schwarz, coming home Saturday. Pfc. Virgil Kokenge, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Joe Kokenge of Granville, has been assigned to the 2375th School Squadron at Northwestern Missouri State college in Maryville, Mo. He was sent there hpm Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, as a ttudent to undergo "training as a clerk typist. When he has completed his training as a clerk typist, he will be re-assigned 10 an air force base. COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS TOWN OF GRANVILLE Adjourned council meeting called to order by Mayor MU- ler. Councilmen present were Neuroth, Howard, Goe Schumacher and Hoefler.

A hearing on the proposed budget was opened. No objectors present, it was moved, seconded and carried to adopt as publi-shed. Condition of disposal plant was discussed. Moved, seconded and carried to adjourn to a future date. ATTEST: Arnold P.

The Kreykes, Waanders and Reitsma families attended the funeral of Mrs. Arie Kreykes at Orange City Monday. The Hospers Bible class motored to Arnolds Park Wednesday to attend the conference Harold Holder is visiting his sister, Mrs. R. Goedliart in Minneapolis for a few weeks.

Rev. Mansen of Orange City had charge of services Sunday In the First Reformed cliurch in the absence of Rev. G. Doctor, who with his family, is spending his vacation at Firtti, Nebr, Mrs. Dick Kreyl5 visited witli her children.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Vande Woude at Arnolds Park few days last week. John Schuller escaped serious injury Friday when a half of baef slid off the track and fell on his back. The large hoolt struck his forehead and cut a bad gash which required medical attention.

He is now back at worlc, Jasiier-PostliUmus Joyce Jasper, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Harry Jasper of Hospers was married Thursday to Marion Posthumus, son of Mr. and Mrs, Gerrit Posthumus of Sheldon. The wedding was at the First Reformed church here. with Rev.

G. Doctor officiating. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Jasper.
