Surviving are her husband, Phillip; three sons, Steven Hartley, Muncie, Rusty Hartley, at home and Jack Hartley, Gaston; a daughter, Nancy, at home; four brothers, Arnold Zapf, Cincinnati, Ohio, Alvin and Ronald Zapf, Muncie, and Rollin Zapf, Daleville; two sisters, Mrs.

Gerald Parkison, Muncie, and Mrs. Wayne Richman, Yorktwon, and two grandchildren. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Rohrdan-Holbert Funeral Home, Wheeling Avenue Chapel, with Rev. Horace Shuman, pastor of the Tabor Independent Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 09 p.m. Friday and any time prior to the services on Saturday. Family requests memorials be directed to the Delaware County Cancer Scoiety: Laura M. Vires Mrs.

Laura Morris Vires, 70, formerly of Muncie, died Monday in Jackson, where she had resided since March. Survivors include a daughter, Victoria South of Muncie; and three sons, Hugh, Virgil and Donald Morris, all of Muncie. Burial was in Hazard, Ky. Dixie J. Hartley, 46, RR 1, Gaston, died Wednesday afternoon at Ball Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born in Muncie, the daughter of Charles and Nancy Henderson Zapf and lived here until moving to Gaston several years ago. She was a self-employed beautician and owned the Beauty Cove in Muncie from 1966-70 and the Beauty Cove in Gaston from 1970-74. She was also a distributor for Home Interiors. She was a 1949 graduate of Central High School. Death takes biographer of Benjamin Harrison NEW YORK (UPI) The Rev.

Harry J. Sievers, 56, a biographer of President Benjamin Harrison, has died in New York. The Rev. Sievers, dean of the graduate school at Fordham University, previously attended and later taught at West Baden, when the Jesuits operated a seminary. The Rev.

Sievers had been scheduled to speak Nov. 4 at an Indiana Historical Society workshop in Indianapolis. Crash hurts driver, 22; fog blamed A 22-year-old man suffered a split lower lip early today when the car he was driving left the road during a heavy ground fog and struck a culvert. Police said Sam T. Rawlins, 208 Keystone Circle, reportedly lost control of his car in the morning fog, veered off the road and rammed into a culvert.

Damage $650. 'Decency rally' at Fort Wayne FORT WAYNE (UPI) Rep. Robert of California will speak Sunday at a "decency rally." The rally is being sponsored by the "Wake Up Fort Wayne Committee," which bills itself as a "nonpartisan, non-sectarian group of concerned citizens." "The public is encouraged to take positive action against pornography and violence by the group said in a statement. Monte L. Judkins Funeral services for Monte L.

Judkins, 65, New Castle, who died this morning at Henry County Hospital after a short illness, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Richman Funeral Home, Yorktown. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery with Rev. John Constant, pastor of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. A former resident Muncie, Mr. Judkins was a native of Henry County and lived in New Castle for the past three years. He was a former representative for National Life Insurance Company in New Castle and Muncie.

Mr. Judkins was later employed at Riggin Dairy Company, where he retired in 1975 as a route supervisor. Surviving are two sons, Raymond, Salibury, N.C., and Maj. M. Tyrone Judkins, Bellview, a stepson, Joseph Stephen, Muncie; a daughter, Mrs.

Ethel Wallace FARMLAND Mrs. Ethel Wallace, 86, 109 S. Plum, died at Ball Hospital in Muncie Wednesday. Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Farmland United Methodist Church with Rev.

Wallace had resided in Farmland for the past 16 years. She moved here from Anamosa, Iowa, after retiring as mail censor at the Iowa State Reformatory. She was a member of Farmland United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Grace) Hubbard of Parker; a son, Allen Wallace of Walnut, and five grandchildren.

Park employee walks off job -with city tools Park Superintendent Robert Bonshire reported the theft Wednesday afternoon of two chain saws by a park department employee who failed to return to work after a short rest break. Police said the employee was cutting trees in McCulloch Park when he supposedly left for a routine work break. Missing in addition to the park department worker were two chain saws valued at $750, police said. A motor-driven bicycle (moped) was reported stolen from the residence of James Brown, 1201 Luick. Juvenile Aid Division authorities said eight mopeds worth an average $350 have been stolen from city residents during the past four weeks.

In other police action, a $260 power mower was stolen from a shed belonging to James 0. Conner, 62, 1214 W. Yale. Police said a lock securing the shed shut was cut or taken during the crime. Mr. Williamson graduated from Redkey High School and Ball State University where he served as photographer, editor and director of Jayo Williamson Williamson, Redkey Timesin a Washing- Redkey athletic publicity. He was a member of Pi Omega Pi, Alpha Phi, Blue Key and Lambda Chi Alpha. Early in World War II he was with the Office of War Information and had assignments in Nigeria, Cairo, Amsterdam and London. Later he worked for Time Magazine for two years as publisher of the Cairo edition.

In 1944 he 'married Miriam Fletcher of Manchester, England, who was a member of the Royal Academy of Ballet. They returned to the U.S. where he served in the Office of Price Administration and later on the Board of Psychological Warfare. He returned to Redkey in 1948 as editor and manager of the local newspaper and was associated with Delaware Engraving Co. in Muncie before returning to Washington, D.C.

in the early 1 1950s. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Sara Gail and Victoria Williamson, both at home, and Tom (Christine) Hamilton, College Park, a son, David L. Harmeier CAMBRIDGE CITY The funeral of Ann Louise Harmeier will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Cambridge City Presbyterian Church.

The 20-year-old college coed, who had been missing for 36 days, was found dead in a cornfield near Martinsville Tuesday. She had been strangled, authorities said. Miss Harmeier was a junior at the Bloomington campus of Indiana University, where she was majoring in arts and drama. Surviving are her mother, Marjorie Harmeier of Cambridge City; her maternal grandmother, Nelle Dailey of Bicknell; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Maude Harmeier of Cambridge City; an uncle, Don Dailey of McGill, and an aunt, Mrs.
