Most want what the GOP's got, says Hampton Newly-elected Delaware County Republican Chairman John Hampton addressed his central-committee Saturday, telling them that "most people want" what the GOP has to offer. Hampton, 48, and a former mayor of Muncie. added that he is looking forward to the Job and said Republicans would have to work hard to counter the "well-oiled machine" of Delaware County Democrats that proved so effective in-1976. Hampton was chosen to replace Jack Isenbarger, the chairman of nearly four years, who resigned last month. Barbara Hartmyer, who was unopposed in being named party vice chairman, replaces Ellie Holt, who has served as vice chairman since Isenbarger was elected in May, 1974.

Superior Court 1 Montgomery Ward and Company vs. Jay D. and Driver just out of jail has auto accident Cemetery becomes hazard as storms wash out bodies LOS ANGELES (UPI) The County Health Department has declared a cemetery a health hazard because of the corpses that have washed out of their hillside graves into the yards of residents below. If any of those buried had died of communicable illnesses, warned Coroner Thomas Noguchi, they could infect living people. Health Officer Morrison Cham-berlin declared the Verdugo Hills cemetery a public hazard, giving officials authority to order county workmen onto the grounds to prevent more corpses from sliding downhill and to search yards and other private property for missing corpses.

About 30 bodies were washed from their graves when a soaked hillside collapsed during hevy rainstorms earlier this month, Fourteen have been recovered. "When the bodies of those who died of natural causes are embalmed, there is no chance of bacteria infection," Noguchi said. "However, if there was disease, bacteria may have survived and infection can be transmitted." Tuberculosis bacteria, for example, live for years in the corpse of a victim, he said.
