A 1 Mrs. Frank Broasman Fetes Mr. and Mrs. Harold Horton At a party of dainty pink and white appointments, Mrs. Frank Brossman entertained, at her liome, 2100 Tenth avenue, at a shower in honor of' Mr.

and Mrs. Harold Horton Tuesday evening. Mr. aad Mrs. Horton were married Sunday, June Mrs.

Horton will be remembered as Laura Rosson. Pink and white were used In the decoration of a basket containing the gilts, and also were applied. In flowers and menu. A mock wedding ceremony provided mirthful entertainment, with Mrs. J.

W. Lester as the bridegroom, Mrs. Bert Arb the bride, Richard BTprtpn the preacher and Frank Brossmau and Louis Cieloha the flower girls. Those present were, the guests of hoiiiif Mr, and Mrs. Harold Horton, Farley, Violet Chandler, and Mrs.

H. Horton. Pi Beta Club Entertains Husbands at Dinner Party Entertaining at a pretty dinner party at Aunt Het's Place, members of the PI Beta club were hostesses to their husbands at a social evening last week. Cards occupied the evening, Mr. and Mrs.

Gordon McMillan receiving high score. Husbands and members present were Messrs, and Mesdames Gordon McMillan, Joe Crowley, Jim Lowell, Waldo McNeil, Charles Smith, Pearl Winslow, Marvin Wlnslow, Felix Parker and J. D. Carpenter; and Mrs. and her brother, Bryan Wlnslow.

Guests of the club were Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson and- Mrs. Earl Todd. 4-H Cooking Club of Gill Hears Two Papers Gill 4-H Cooking club held Its meeting on Tuesday, roll call being answered by each girl's presenting a 'can of rhubarb, the cans later in the afternoon being judged.

1 N.orma Miller gave, a paper on How To Keep Food," and one on. "The Value of Fruit in the Diet" was read by Beryl Wood. Books on canning had arrived from the Hazel Atlas Glass company and also from the International Harvester a empty jars sent by the Hazel AUas Glass company and the Ball company were distributed among the girls. Luther League Meets for Social Time Regular meeting of Luther League held last week at the church, with Mr. and Mrs.

Paul Johnson and Arvid' Johnson entertaining. Devotionals led by Carl Segerhammar, and the following program was presented: piano solo, Edith Aronson; vocal quartet selections, Robert, Harold and Ernest Johnson and Wilbur Swanson; reading, Helen Stone; and piano duet, and Irene Johnson. Next will be Friday, June 20,, at the church, with Robert and Ernest Johnson entertaining. Mrs. Olive Riley Elected Altrusa President Tuesday Mrs.

Olive Riley, who Is associated her husband, H. W. Riley.Jh the Riley Studio, was elected president of the Altrusa club following the banquet held: at Aunt HeL's Place Tuesday evening. Other officers elected were Stella McClenahan, vice president; Mrs. Lillian Brummitt, secretary; and Miss Madge McKenzie, treasurer.

Mrs. Riley served as vice president of the business women's club last year. She was a charter member of the organization. Swedish Baptist Picnic The annual Sunday school, picnic of the Swedish Baptist church will be held on Sunday, June 29, according to an announcement made by those planning the affair. A cordial -welcome is extended.

Past Matrons Friday Past Matrons will meet foe an 8:30 o'clock breakfast Friday morning at the home of Mrs. Volney C. A flower committee appointed by the president Is composed of Nellie Clark, Agnes Dunn and the vice president. 'The first meeting was held, at the home of. Miss Nellie Clark, 407 Eighth street. Formed with, the purpose of charitable work and discussion news topics, the club also, will be social. Rev.

Robinson ot Denver spoke to the group on the best means of forming a club. Next meeting will be Wednesday, June 18, with Miss Agnes Duhn, 505 Tenth street. Gilbert As a farewell compliment to Gran- vflle Carrel, who left on the midnight train Tuesday on his return- to New York City, Carroll Gilbert was host at a stag party at his home, 1226 Eleventh avenue Tuesday evening. De Molay Members to State Convention James Bills, William Hayden, and William Cox. will -leave Friday to attend the state convention of the Order of De Molay, being held In Walsen- biirg on June 13, 14 and 15.

They will go as delegates from the local chapter. Swedish Ladles Aid Ladies Aid of the Swedish Lutheran church will meet at 8 p. m. Thursday with Mr. and Mrs.

Pete Carlson as' hosts. Elam Elected Chairman of Milliken Band Board Milliken, June 10--The Milliken band association' and- their guests held their' annual business- meeting and election of officers in the high school auditorium Monday night- After the report the auditing committee and other yearly reports the following officers were elected for the coming year: B. J. Elam, chairman of the board; Jesse Humphrey, secretary; Harry Crawford, treasurer and Lawrence Deffenbangh, Jesse Stansbury and' Helen Porter, vice- chairmen'. These members were' all re-elected with the exception of Mr.

Stansbury who -is taking the place of Conrad Stroll'who resigned his position. Previous to the business the band gave a rousing concert with several numbers. Specialties during intermission cornet duet, "One More Day," by Audrey Case and Archie Mellon, with Velma. Mellon accompanying at the piano. A baritone solo, that beautiful ballad, "A Dreamer," by Band Director, Ekanfler, with Jesse Humphrey accompanlng him on his coronet and.

Mrs. Earl Rlckett at the piano. For an encore Mr. Ekandcr played a violin solo "Wnen the Stars Are Shining." He was recalled again and played "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling." Other than these special numbers were a few teasers by the group of the Ladies Aid play, who were rehearsing In the building and. very obligingly gave a few sketches of the play.
