A leader of the group which fought the parking lot move savs he's been informed that plans to turn this park into a site for high-rise apartments or use it for business buildings are now being looked into. The spokesman for this group also said that his followers would fight any move to do away with the park.

John King Two Images THERE SEEM to be two groups which have definite opinions on John King's opposition to the proposed Petaluma downtown plan -those who think he's the prophet who will save Petaluma from destruction and those who think he's the man who, if sue-cessful, will set Petaluma back 20 years. Political Propaganda THE WORD IS out that a lot of folks in this area would like to see former Petaluma Mayor Art Parent run for supervisor, but local political buffs, are presently betting that he won't. Unknown Factor ONE OF the topics being discussed in Petaluma coffee shops is how well are the politically-minded Sonoma County college teachers and politically-minded Sonoma County College students organized. What's Cookin' OUT OF TOWN promoters are surveying to see the feasibility of a drive-in and possibly walk-in theatre in the far eastern section of Petaluma. Time To Remember HAVE YOU EVER stopped to realize that the Petaluma Town Clock is one of the most historic time pieces in Northern California? This clock has been keeping time for generation after generation of Petalumans, and I hope that it will continue to do the same for the future generations.

Early Morning Voice KTOB's Ron Walters is called the Voice that Wakes up Petaluma, and the reason is that he's on the airlanes when the early risers get up, and he's still on the airlanes when most of the late risers get up. PREHISTORIC PRINCESS OF ANCIENT MONDAY, OCTOBER 7 -Born today, you are emotionally independent and have no real need to rely on others for a feeling of well-being. Yet you enjoy being with people and never fail to gain some sort of spiritual benefit through relationships with them.

You have a great desire to be of help to others, though not in a material way. Indeed, you may never be able to aid others materially for tangible gains have never been your goal; moral gains, however, you are always seeking. You may not find it easy to establish yourself as a success in the commercial world. In fact, you may find as you gain in maturity and in your desire to grow spiritually that the religious life is more suited to one of your nature than any other sort of career. You have some of the instincts of a competitor in that you are determined to fulfill yourself through your talents but your talents are most likely not commercial.

Extenuating circumstances stare you in the face.

GEMINI (May 22-June 21) -Plans may guarantee you a good future if they work out but it is accomplishments that brin today's success. You are too hard on yourself. VIRGO (Aug. 24-Sept. 23) -Greet strangers as you would old friends. This is not the time for standing on ceremony with youns or old, male or female.

Toe Wrestling A NUMBER of years ago toe wrestling became quite the sport in Petaluma. In those days most of the participants were teen-agers, but things have changed. Toe wrestling is again the rage with certain local party groups, and most of the contestants are adults. Toe wrestling is a little hard to describe, so I using Confucius' method of illustrating with a picture. Let your birthday be your daily guide. Tuesday, October 8 LIBRA (Sept. 24-Oct. 23) -Consider the emotional stability of another before you make demands. Keep recently gained knowledge to yourself.

Much Discussed Subject BOTH ADULTS and children are discussing this question: Will last year's poison candy scare, during the Halloween night trick or treat by the kiddies, affect this year's trick or treat? Last year a report that someone gave the kiddies, who were out trick and treating poisoned candy, caused a good deal of panic in Petaluma, and the end result could be less kids going trick or treat this Halloween. Presidential Names THE NEW Sonoma County telephone directory lists five Nixons and five Humphreys, which means the Democratic and Republican candidates for president are tied as far as the phone directory is concerned. On the other hand there are 61 Wallaces listed, which would give the American Independence Party a victory, if the names in the phone directory were the only ones counted as votes and of course if all the Wallaces voted for Wallace. Question And Answer Box THE OTHER DAY I was discussing music with Marty Martinez who operates Petaluma's only cigar, magazine and book shop. The name of Kid Ory came up.

Kid Ory made music history, and he is considered one of the greatest of the great New Orleans jazz men. What Marty and I did not know is whether Kid Ory Is still alive. Now, I'm sure that one of the readers of this column can come up with 'the answer to this question. If you have the answer to this question, how about sending it along to me as soon as possible?
