--HamSproul, M.Blumer and Henry Smith will have new cement walks in front of their homes soon. --Frank was in Chicago last week with two' carloads of stock from the Henke farm west of Greene. --Misses "Ella Johnson and Jessie Reams of Rockford spent Sunday and Monday here, the guests of Miss Bessie Fowler. --Mrs. J.

W. Williams will leave tomorrow for Cleveland, Ohio, for a month's visit with her daughter, Mrs. Anna Brown. --MissLou Steger entertained twelve cousins at a five o'clock ten Sunday evening, in honor of Miss Bessie and Master Bernhard of Waterloo. Miss Ida Bernbard assisted in serving.

C. Roberts and Mrs. J. J. Potter returned home last Thursday evening from a three weeks' visit with relatives at Sterling, 111.

--Frank Bins a looking after matters in the meat market at Allison Saturday, while Mart Runyen took in the ball game at Dougherty. --Mrs. J. P. Ayer left Sunday for Dee Moines, where she will take her position in the millinery house for two or th'rge weeks.

--Dr. Egbert George of Sioux Falls, S. who has been visiting J. W. Wil- 'lians and family for the past three weeks, departed Saturday for his home.

--Mrs. Mayrne Gould and son Yale returned home Sunday from a week's visit at Nashua. While there Yale caught a pickerel that weighed seven pounds. --Announcement cards have been received here of the marriage of Paul Leeman to Miss Josephine Fisher at Kenosha, Wis. Paul's old friends in Greene will extend best wishes.

C. C. Denton of St. Louis spent a few hours with the RECOKDER family lest Friday. Mrs.

--W. C. Myers and family passed through here Saturday on their way home to Waterloo, having finished their at Clear Lake. Wilson had just returned from a trip to Akron, Ohio, where he was called by the serious illness of his mother. --E.

stoddard returned home Friday from Centuria, wbere he and Jack Rife have been working on a bank building for Geo. Wild, formerly of Allison. Mr. Rife went to Echo, from there to join his wife and visit their daughter, Mrs. Rush Clapp.

--Will Atkinson, of lecture course fame, was in town Saturday afternoon on his way to ClarksviJle to spend Sunday at home. He has been spending the summer working for a lyceum bureau, and will resume his law course at Iowa City next Gazette. --The remains of Jos, Endersby were brought here from Rocklsland last Thursday noon and interred in the Greenwood cemetery. The deceased was a brother of Mrs. John Johnson who came to this vicinity recently from Greene, Mr.

Johnaon having purchased a farm near Post. --Mrs. F. J. Overmyer and Miss Ethel Conn came over from Parkers burg last Friday evening, the former for a visit with W.

Overmyer and wife and the latter to spend Saturday and Sunday with Mrs. W.F. Barr at the J. C. Lockwood home.

They were accompanied by Miss Ida Kaste. --Aaron Moss and his men are putting down a new cement walk at the west side school house. They are also needed on the east side. --Miss Frances Murison of Minneapolis, who a been visiting i Eugenie Glodery, left for Charles City Monday to visit friends. --A new department store was opened in Charles City last Saturday in the Ellis block.
