Indianapolis city affairs were considered in a tangled condition today as a result of the resignations of members of the city council.

Prosecutor William H. Remy said he was undecided whether to accept overtures, from councilmen that they plead guilty, to malfeasance indictments on condition that they will not be tried on bribery charges. Offer to riead Guilty. It was reported that the council-men wish to plead guilty to misdemeanors and accept a fine, rather than go to trial on charges which might result in prison sentences If convictions were obtained. The councilmen were said to have stipulated that if allowed to plead guilty, to the lesser charges, they would resign immediately.

One councilman resigned outright, and it was said that two others had written their resignations and placed them In the hands of attorneys. It was reported that Remy's answer regarding allowing pleas of guilty would influence the resignations. The alleged overtures to plead guilty followed conviction last week of City Councilman Boynton J. Moore, who was tried on a bribery charge. B.

He was wounded In the side by a revolver bullet. Hospital physicians said his wound was serious but probably would not prove fatal. According to Beatty's statement he had gone to a saloon with his wife prior to attending a political meeting. While there, 12 federal agents under George E. Gelding, entered.

Beatty said he saw the men com- ing in the door with guns and thought it was a hold-up. Before he could escape, he said, he was Golding declared Beatty was shot after he drew a revolver and started shooting at the federal agents. These events, coupled with new death threats and political battle cries, displaced in importance the hope of possible federal intervention in the political war, which was aroused by the request of U. S. Marshal Palmer Anderson for 500 deputy marshals to prevent violence in the primary election April 10.

Birds are returning to the north from having wintered in the south and as a further means of conservation, George N. Mannfeld, superintendent of the fish, and game division of the state conservation department, urges citizens to attract them by building bird houses. This Hoosier conservationist in a bulletin received here today to several hundred fish, game and bird protective clubs of this state, called attention that birdrs are true friends of man and aid him in his daily struggles in manifold ways. Destroy Insects. Many birds are insect eaters and in the course of a year one bird will consume many thousands of insects which damage food crops.

Scientists tells us that insects where unmolested reproduce their kind at an astonishing rate and if nature did not maintain a balance through providing enemies of said insects, portions of the earth very likely would soon become uninhabitable. For instance, as illustration, a single pair of potato bugs, if permitted to Increase their number without molestation, would in the course of a single year, produce a grogeny of sixty million. Insects are the natural food of many birds and if Indiana is made safe and attractive to these feathered friends, we may expect huge returns from these industrous but unpaid laborers. endjtory Desposition Being Taken by Sinclair Attorneys. Campaign Log Producers Quality Milk Is of a Superior Grade. Producers Quality Milk is known better and has more users than any other milk distributed in Delaware County. There are several reasons why it, above all others, is the choice of hundreds of patrons who purchase it The Indiana Dairy Marketing Association, distributor, knows that the public wants a superior grade of milk and in Producers Quality Milk it is supplying that need. The milk, first of all, comes from cows that have been tuberculin tested and have been found to be free from tuberculosis. This is an important point, because it assures patrons -that they are getting: the best.

"Next, when milk comes into the Indiana Dairy's plant it is handled in the cleanest possible manner. It is placed in covered receiving tanks and not once is exposed to air. Is Tasteurized. Then the milk is pasteurized with great care and this process eliminates all harmful bacteria. One who drinks pasteurized milk may feel absolutely certain that it is pure, especially when that milk comes from tuberculin tested cattle.

With the bottling of the milk one might think that the association has ended its task in serving the consumer, but this is not so. The bottles are steamed thoroughly when they are returned to the plant, even if they have been washed carefully by the consumer who last had them. Daylight Delivery. State law requires that a test be made once a month. The association, however, is not content with this and daily sends a quantity of milk taken from one of the delivery wagons to the laboratory of Dr.

R. E. Cole at the Muncie Home Hospital to be tested. Records show that in all the time the milk has been tested it not once has failed to come up to the standard set by state law. The bacterial count is extremely low.

Another important phase of the milk business is delivering the product as soon as possible after it has been taken from the cows. The Indiana Dairy Marketing Association has succeeded in doing this by sending out the milk to its patrons during the day time, just a few hours after it is received. -Producers' Quality Milk is the best you can buy.
