Churdan area news reports by Ruby Churdan 141 Mrs Vincent Gaffney of New York, Sister Carita and their mother, Mrs Lewis Carey, were breakfast guests Wednesday morning of Mrs Opal Williams. Mr and Mrs L. A. Murphy and her sister, Mrs Agnes Sinnott of San Diego, who is their house guest spent last Tuesday with the Murphy's daughter and family, Mr and Mrs Bert Eason, jr. and children at Battlecreek.

Mrs Bertha Meyer of Pa ton, Mesdames Cecelia Meyer and Jeffrey, Marjorie Meyer, Phyllis Meyer and Susan, Opal Meyer, Debbie and Denise spent Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Rose Meyer and celebrated Cecelia Meyer's birthday which was on Saturday. Mr and Mrs Jim Berry and children who have been living at Spencer, came last Tuesday to visit Mrs Berry's parents, 'Mr and Mrs John Carey and Richard and other relatives and friends. They left Friday for Waverly to visit his brother, Don Berry and family, and then to Chicago, 111., to visit another 'brother, Tom Berry and family. The men's mother, Mrs Lillian Berry, who has been living at Long Beach, is now at the Don Berry home. The Jim Berry family will be in Washington, D. C.

Mr and Mrs George Albertson, Leland and Karen of Montebello, came Aug. 5 to spend two weeks with Mrs Albertson's parents, Mr and Mrs Ray LeGore and her brother, Boyd LeGore and family. Jane Arnold returned home Wednesday from Fort Dodge where she had spent almost a week with her uncle and family, Mr and Mrs Jim Baldridge, Susan and Sara A family gathering of 50 relatives was held evening at St. Columbkille's hall in honor of Sister Carita, was here on her five-year visit with her parents, Mr and Mrs Lewis Carey and other relatives. She will go from here to Utah to teach school.

A pbtluck dinner was enjoyed. Other relatives from a distance were her sisters, Mrs Vincent Gaffney and family of New York, Mrs Don Jeffers and daughter and Mrs Jac Kaiser and daughters of California, Mr and Mrs James Berry and children who are moving to Washington, D. and others from Carroll, Jefferson and Churdan. Mrs Nona Sims returned to her home Thursday forenoon from the hospital in Jefferson where she had been for 12 days and had surgery. The two circles of the Methodist church will meet Thursday, Aug.

17 at 2 o'clock at the church. The Mary circle will meet to make plans for the chicken supper which they will serve to the public on Sept. 7. The Lucille circle will have a work shop. Members are asked to bring their portable sewing machines and other sewing equipment.

Mr and Mrs Roger Halloway and Mrs True Trainer of Florida, and Mrs Edith 'Peacock of Sioux City visited relatives and friends here Thursday. The Hallovvays and Trainers and Mrs Peacock were visiting relatives in Jefferson. Mr and Mrs Dale Halloway and daughters of Ypsilanti, who have been visiting relatives here also visited relatives in Jefferson. Mrs Trainer and Mrs Peacock are sisters of the Halloway men. She is 89 years old. The Dale Halloway family a their granddaughter Kathy Johnson of Minneapolis, who were here a week visiting Halloway's father Henry Dudley and other relatives took Mrs Peacock to her home and saw Dale's mother, Mrs Halloway and then went to Minneapolis to visit relatives before returning to their home in Ypsilanti. The LeGore family reunion was held Sunday, Aug. 6 at the Woman's Club house in Jefferson.

Mr and Mrs Ray LeGore, Mr and Mrs Robert LeGore, Mr and Mrs Paul Fackler and family, Mr and Mrs Roger Hyndman and son from here attended. Mr and Mrs George Albertson and family of Montebello, Mr and Mrs Fred Sutton and Leona and Mrs Beulah LeGore of Des Moines, Mr and Mrs Wm. LeGore of Jefferson were the others present. Susan Stiain of Cedar Rapids came Tuesday morning to visit her grandparents, Mr and Mrs George Skinner. Word was received here Wednesday of the death of Mrs Carter Williams of Dana who died Tuesday night at the Mercy hospital in Fort Dodge, where she has been for the past year and a half.

She was 85. Her husband has been in the hospital in Jefferson for some time. Mrs Bill Reese of here and Janice Kennedy who taught here last year are Mrs Williams' granddaughters. Relatives from here attended the rosary and also attended the funeral at the Catholic church in Grand Junction Saturday morning. Mrs Kenneth Flemming and Jan of Avoca spent Tuesday and Wednesday witn her parents, Mr and Mrs Herbert Mumby and took their daughter and sister, Nancy home with them.

She had been with the Mumbys and other relatives for ten days. Mrs George Albertson of California and Mrs Edward Morlan visited Mrs Flemming at the Mumby home Tuesday evening. The Presbyterian ladies wiill serve a supper to the public Saturday evening. Aug. 19.

Mr and Mrs Claire Finney and amily left Wednesday for Win terse to visit his mother, before returning to their home in Waterloo. They had visited since Sunday with her sister, Mrs Merle Hoyle and family here and with her mother, Mrs Nettie Johnson and her brother Beryl Johnson and family Jefferson.

All had a family reunion at the swimming pool park in Jefferson Sunday. Cheryl Finney had been with the Hoyle family since July 24 and Phillip Finney had gone with the Beryl Johnson family on a trip to Yellowstone and other places. Jackie Finney had gone with the Hoyles on their trip last. Bobby Finney spent most of the time at the Hoyle home while his family were in Jefferson. Word was received here Wednesday evening of the birth of an 7 13 son to Dr and Mrs Lohr that afternoon.

They live in Ogden, Utah. The baby has a sister Elizabeth, who is a year and a half. The grandparents are Mr and Mrs Clarence Smith and Dr and Mrs Phillips Lohr of Churdan. O. O.

Smith of Jefferson is the baby's great grandfather. Mrs Lohr is the former Carolyn Smith. Her sisster, Miriam Smith went to Ogden several week ago. Mrs B. L.

House, Joyce and Lee and Mrs Walter Stow and Walter, jr. left Thursday by ear for their home at Roswell, Ga. They had been here since Sunday to visit Mr and Mrs Virgil A. Tillcy and sons. The three Jaclies are sisters.

Mr and Mrs William Espanner of Lohrville visited Mrs Hedw.g Hirschberg Monday evening of last week. Mr and Mrs Robert Phillips and family returned home last Tuesday from Lost Island where they had spent a week. His parents, Mr and Mrs Sheldon Phillips of Fort Dodge spent from Saturday until Tuesday with them at Lost Island. Sister Carita, Mrs Don Jeffers a Mrs Bessie Conner were breakfast guests Thursday morning of Mrs Bill Reese and family. Mr and Mrs Clark Jones, Linda and Debbie Sue who had been visiting relatives at Omaha, Council Bluffs, and Missouri Valley since Sunday came Thursday morning to visit Mr and Mrs Earl White arid Jerry, Mrs Myrtle Kimmer and the Edward Jones family.

They left Friday morning for their home at Clinton. Edward Jones family went home with them for a week's visit with relatives at Clinton. Mr and Mrs Alois Wiederin took their daughter Sister Leonette back to La Crosse, Wednesday. She is a nurse at St. Francis hospital and had been with her parents and family since Thursday.

Mr and Mrs Wiederin returned home Thursday. Mrs Clarence Kiefer returned home last Tuesday morning from the hospital in Jefferson where she had been for 16 days. She is up part of the time. Mr and Mrs 'Paul Conner and daughters returned home last Tuesday from a week's camping trip to Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs and other places. Mary Jean and family, Mr and -Mrs Harry Tjog-as and children. She spent one weekend with Mr and Mrs Wally Lueck and Ann at Oakland. Mrs Lulck is the former Lucille Mackey, daughter of Mrs -Mamie Mackey of Cnurdan. She visited Mrs Frieda Stuber and Mr and Mrs Jerome Hatfield and family at San Leandro. Mrs Stuber and family lived here several years ago Mrs Stuber lives with the Hatfield family and she still Sives piano lessons.

The Hatfield family visited friends here a few weeks ago. His people lived here also and now live at Panora. Mrs Hatfield is the former Pat Stuber Mrs Smith srent from Saturday until Wednesday with Major and Mrs Robert Fern and children at Sac ramento. The Fern familv lived here several years ago and he ran the theatre here.
