Teasley, a New York City marketing firm, rated the Sheboygan area fourth in the nation, behind Allen Burton "Mike Adams" Husband, Father, Lawyer Mike died peacefully from cancer at Cherry Meadows, in Appleton, Wisconsin on February 3, 2004, supported by his family.

Allen was born in Menasha on May 6, 1913. He grew up on Prospect Street and later lived on Sixth Street. He graduated from Menasha High School in 1931 and from Marquette University Law School in June, 1937. Mike practiced law in downtown Menasha until he entered the Marine Corps Reserves in September, 1942. In 1944, after receiving a medical discharge from the Marine Corps Reserves, Mike immediately passed an examination for civilian pilot training and enlisted in the Army Air Corp Reserves.

He was ordered to Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Virginia, to begin classes in ground work and flight training. While there he met Florence Moorman Merryman and they were married on August 10, 1944. The pilot training program was suddenly disbanded and he and Florence returned to Menasha in September, 1944. Allen resumed his law practice in downtown Menasha and later on Racine Street. He practiced law in Menasha for many years before joining, in 1968, with Tom Woodrow, L.O.Cooke, and Gaylord Loehning to found the law firm that is now Adams Woodrow, S.C.

Allen and Florence raised their family in Menasha and enjoyed many years together sharing passions for friends, golf, curling, and bird watching. Mike especially enjoyed his family, raising Eastern Bluebirds, golfing, and practicing law right up until his cancer was diagnosed a few weeks ago. Allen is survived by three of his four sons and their families, Allen Benjamin (Debra), and Steven (Marcia Halligan). His grandchildren are Agnes Agnes Jorgenson, age 61, of Friendship died Saturday February 14, 2004 at her home. Funeral arrangements are pending at Fiss Bills Funeral Anchorage, Alaska, and No.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, his son David, his parents Lewis and Charlotte Adams, and his brothers and sisters, Harley, Laura Williams, Ross, Lloyd, Verna Eisentraut, Lewis, and Fredrick. Allen was a life member of the Neenah-Menasha Elks Lodge and a Member of the Twin Cities lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons of Wisconsin.

He was also a member of the Bluebird Restoration Association of Wisconsin. Mike was a member of Delta Sigma Pi fraternity and a strong supporter of many charities. At Mike's request there were no formal services following his death. But he didn't say we couldn't celebrate his life. An informal luncheon and celebration of the lives of Allen and Florence will be hosted by their family on Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Germania Hall in Menasha, from 11:30 a.m.
