What Britt People Are Doing The three children of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Ilullinger, of Garner, were week end visitors in the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Korneisel.

Mrs. Hclon Larson, Nels Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Nonis Larson and Mardelle. and Mr.

and Mrs. Thomas Hinders and baby drove to Eagle Grove. Sunday, to attend open house for the Golden Wedding of Mr. and Mrs. A.

E. Spangler. The Burdeen Larson family, of Hudd, was also present. Mrs. Spangler is a sister of Nels Larson and a 'sister-in-law of Mrs.

Helen Larson. Mr. and Mrs. John Grund, of Emmons, became the parents of their second son born Saturday, April 16 at the Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea, Minn. He weighed 9 pounds and 894 ounces, and has been named Konald Mark.

Mrs. Grund is the former Joann McCormick. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCormick, of Goodell.

R. E. Hasings, Brainerd, and his sister, Mrs. F. C.

Vail, Kasson, Minn visited their mother, Mrs. A. E. Bodie, Wednesday and Thursday. A short letter from Mrs.

Nellie Sorenscn advisics that she will soon leave Lakehurst, N. to return home. The Galen Broadwater family, of Rochester, were Saturday over-night and Sunday guests at the parental horn of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Russell.

Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Sonerholm and Mr.

and Mrs. W. J. Madolc drove to Mason City, Thursday, to attend the Golden Wedding Anniversary club dinner. A large number were present from the surrounding territory.

Mr. and Mrs. Madole were the oldest in the group that were present. Mrs. David Thayer and two children have returned to their home at LaGrange, 111., after spending several days at the parental George Oakes home.

Mr. Thayer had been here three days. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zeibel, of Charles City, attended church services at the Church of the Nazarene, Sunday.

They and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Peterson, of Denhart, drove to Clurion after the services and spent the afternoon at the home of the Zeibels daughter and family, the Francis Shoreys. Mrs. Zeibel and Mrs.

Peterson are sisters. Howard Schaper, ol Britt, announce the engagement and appicaching marriage of their daughter, Marjory Joyce, to Verlin Ball, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ball, of Alliance, Nebr. The wedding will take place at the Methodist Church in Britt on June 4. Dr.

and Mrs. Marshall Nelson and Sandra attended the wedding of his niece, Miss Jean Ann Bartzen, at Goldfield. April 9. The bridegroom was Wm. Basinger, also of Goldfield.

The bride is a junior nurse at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. The bridegroom, is a senior at Drake University. Mr. and Mrs. L.

L. Enyder, of Algona, were April 7 guests at the Dr. Marshall Nelson home. John Palmer was injured while doing some work at the bean plant in Belmond recently and has since been at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Anderson.

Employed by the Iowa Electric Light and Power Company, Palmer was assisting others in lifting poles when the accident occurred. He suffered injuries to his right foot, having four bones fractured. He will carry his foot in a cast six weeks, and will be off work a couple of months. Dr. and Mrs.

Sims, of Clarion, were guests in the Dr. M. C. Nelson home April 7. Mr.

and Mrs. Henry Huisinga, of Sibley, visited Mrs. Anna Huisinga, Friday. Mr. and Mrs.

Jay Hewlett and family were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thompson at' Kanawha. Mr. and Mrs.

Melvin Thompson also guests. Mrs. Jay Hewlett entertained the Neighborhood Birthday club at her home Tuesday. Mrs. John Madigan and Mrs.

Frank Law, both of Mason City, were in Britt. Friday. Mrs. Anna Huisinga left Monday for Mcndota, 111., for a several days visit with her brother, Bert Greenfield. She was accompanied by her sister, Mrs.

Ralph Hos, of Buffalo Center. Mr. and Mis. James L. Harty, of Des Moines, were week end guests at thn home of Dr.

and Mrs. M. II. Peteisen. Miss Marjory Schaper has resigned her work in the Meredith Publishing Company's office at Des Moines and returned to the parental Howard Schaper home to make preparation for her approaching marriage.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson attended the annual convention of the Iowa Press Association at DCS Moincs, Friday and Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. William Schuver and Mr. and Mrs-. Kay Schuver were dinner guests Sunday at the Billy Schuvor home.

Kay Schuver left Monday for Long Beach, to report back to duty witli the U. S. Navy. Mis. Hilton Hanson returned Rochester, Minnesota, last week where she had a physical check up for her condition.

She has reentcred the local hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Knudson and girls, of Dos Moincs, and Mr. and Mrs.

A. J. Boland and boys, of Lake City, visited Sunday in the parental Reuben Knudson home, and also at the home of their sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Diehl.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Burz, from Klemme, visited at the W. H. Brand home Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Gunderson, of Baudettc, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Frick from Tuesday until Sunday.

They also visited his mother, Mrs. Andrea Thomnson. at Belmond. Mr. Gunderson is a brother of Frick.

I IIIGDON I A I Nonnajene Raw, Glenn Bordwell Married April 17 Miss Normujene Raw, of Britt, and Glenn Bordwell, of Clarion, were united in marriage Sunday, April 17, at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Gretta Haw, in Britt. The Uev. Trevor Baskerville, of Garner, performed the single-ring ceremony with Mrs.

James Gatchell, of Garner, and William Kaw, of Britt, sister and brother of the bride, as the attendants. The home was decorated with baskets of mixed spring flowers and candelabra, which formed the setting for a pretty home wedding. Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served at Mason City. Plans for the couple's future arc still incomplete. The bride was a graduate of the Britt high school and during her high school years here had clerked in the Lee Grifhorst Drug store.

She is also a graduate of the Medical Technician School in Minneapolis, and has since been employed in a hospital at Fort Dodge, which position she has resigned. and Mrs. Ray Olherding have moved to a house on the Klls- worth farm tenanted hy Elmer llrubes, located one mile northeast of Crystal Lake. They now have a Crystal Lake telephone. The move was made so that Mr. Olberding could be more centrally located ior his ork.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Brand and two sons, who have been spending the past two weeks at the W. H. Brand home, Left for their home in Cheektowaga, N.

Saturday evening. They also visited his sister and family, the Richard Grif- horsts, and with his brother, Alvin, and wife near Osage. The I. O. O.

F. Protection Lodge of Britt entertained the Charity Rebekah Lodge to a colored movie shown by Homer Huskamp recently. A social time was had followed by a lunch served by the Odd Fellows. The Richard Grifhorsts had as their dinner guests Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs.

W. H. Brand and their house guests, the Melvin Brands, from New York; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Brand, Osage; and Irving Haupt, Klemme.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Corlew and Kristin visited friends in Algona, Sunday afternoon. The Rebekah Lodge of Garner will hold the Truth Council at Garner, Thursday, April 21. James Stevenson, formerly employed at Carson's, has joined the force of Highway Commission engineers in Britt.

A farewell dinner was held at the Floyd Sweet home Tuesday evening for the Darwin Sweet family, of Forest City, who will leave for Austin, Texas, Saturday to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Sweet and daughter Deanna went to Corpus Christi, Texas, a few weeks ago to live. Mr.

and Mrs. Eugene Sweet have been living in Austin for the past couple of years. They will soon move to Corpus Christi where both will be employed. Mr. and Mrs.

C. F. Wigton from DCS Moincs the fore part of the week, having gone there on the week end for a visit with her sister, Jenc Hamniill. Mr. and Mrs.

Kay Kelly werti April 10 visitors in the home of their son-in-law and (laughter, the LuVon Cooks, in DCS Moines. Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Gail Korneisel entertained a group at their home at which lime they showed the pictures they had taken in Hawaii. Mr.

The Charity Rebekah Lodge of Britt will hold its convention in Britt, June 3. Mrs. Lucille Beaumont and her sister, Mrs. Hilda Hanson, Sunday dinner guests at the John Sanquist home near Forest City. Know Your Hospital Auxiliary By Mrs.

K. E. Hmisley Monday, April 18--1 spent an enjoyable morning today with oth- ei shrubbery committee members at the nursery grounds in Mason City, selecting some nice ever- gieens for the hospital. With the available money now, to use for this, not too much can be done. However the north front of the building will first be considered and 'jtlier spots will be planted as finances permit.

This first foundation planting will arrive some time next week. Be watching! This is the week, nationally, for outdoor planting and cleaning. With this in mind you might wish to have a part in beautifying the Hospital gtounds. The very first person to respond to this worthy project was Mrs. Ida McCulloch, from Kanawha, physically unable to even attend the Auxiliary meetings but because of her love for flowers and "green things growing" wished to have a part.

Next came a nice check the Crystal Lake Woman's Club. So anytime now any amount from any individual, church, or civic gioup will be most welcome. W. S. C.

S. MEETING The April meeting of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Methodist Church was held Wednesday the 13th in the church dining room. The Dorcas circle served a 1:30 dessert luncheon. Mrs. Emmctt Sheets was elected as a delegate to the conference in Sioux City to be held in June.

The program, "United Work of Protestant Church Women in the United States" was presented as a panel discussion. Mrs. Lyle Gourley, of Corwith, was soloist on the afternoon program. Mrs. Merle English, Supt. of i a Children's Home at i a a 111., was the speaker.

Birthday a Kelley, of C'resco, will find it even easier to remember his birthday from now on. On his 79th anniversary recently, a great granddaughter was born. Parents are Mr. and Mrs. Uae Dean Koe, of Des Moincs.
