THURSDAY, JANUARY 5, 1950 THE ALTON. IOWA DEMOCRAT PAGE NINE GRANVILLE GAZETTE Fred Croat Rites At Adrian, Minn. NEWS OF YOUR Funeral services were held in St. Adrian Catholic church in Adrian, on Wednesday morning, Dec. 28 at 9:30 a requiem mass sung by the pastor assisted by the church choir for Fred Croat, age 58 years, 6 months and 12 days, who passed away in the hospital there on Christmas morning at 7 o'clock, after a 2 day illness.

Fred Croat was born June 13, 1891 at Granville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Croat. He attended St. Joseph's church and after his marriage to Rose Gaul in 1913 engaged in farming near Granville, later moving to Minnesota, where he farmed for 25 years before retiring and moved to Adrian, where he was mail and express Inan for the last 5 years.

He was a faithful member of St. Adrian of the church and also member Knights of Columbus. Interment was made in the Adrian cemetery. Surviving are his wife, two sons and two daughters, Wilfred Croat of Beaver Creek, Mrs. Ralph Cope of Sioux Falls, Mrs.

Ralph Boote of Rushmore, and Melvin of Adrian, five grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Frances Croat of Granville, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, Mrs. Joe Miller of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Ray Schemmel, Leo Croat and Clarence Croat, all of Granville. He was preceded in death by 1 son and his father, Peter Croat.

Stevie is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fanse Schilmoeller, 2 brothers and 5 sisters, Mary, Pat, Larry, Margie, Barbara, Freddie, and a Vicki, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Kellen of LeMars and Herman Schilmoeller of Granville.
