Lewis Kuszmaul and Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Bryant autoed to Kokomo the 16th Instant to visit with friends there. Prof. Chapin of Lincoln university, former missionary to Japan, gave an Interesting and instructive lecture at the Presbyterian church Sunday night.

Mr. Chapman is a brother to Rev. Chapman of Wheeling. Several from here attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Blue, which was held from Center U.

B. church. -Rev. Chapman, assisted by the Rev. Cripe and Carey Galveston, conducted the service.

Zenna Campbell's. Mrs. Violet Ullery and daughter Eva. Mr. and Mrs.

Harvey Ullery. Flossie Campbell and daughter Martha visited with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lantz first of the 1 week. Several from here attended the Irish picnic Thursday of last week.

Rev, Featherston spent Saturday night and Sunday night with Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Light.

Rev, Johnston, preached his farewell sermon at Webb Ctiapel Sunday. He will attend the M. E. conference and will then move with his family to Valparaiso to reside. He will not take any church work as has throat trouble, and will rest for a year.

Mrs. Clara Brandt has returned to her home in Logansport after spending several days with W. H. Brandt and daughters. The Sunday school convention for this township will be held at Webb Chapel Sunday afternoon, Oct.

She was married Wednesday, Sept. 19. Quite a number of people in this township attended the funeral of LevI lotner, which was held at the Indian church. Thursday afternoon. Mr.

Cotner was born and raised in this township and had lived In this vicinity until a few years ago when he sold his farm in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood, and bouhgt a farm in township. Ella Smith and daughter Grace was in quite a mii-up one day last week. Just as they were nearing Peru, an automobile passed them scaring their horse and makin? it back and horse and buggy went over quite a steep ambankment. The wu- men both jumped before the rig fell over the bank and both escaped out injury but the harness and buggy were broken up some. The horse was none the worse for the fall either. The parties In the machine put on roore speed and got away without offering any assistance.

Chris Miller were Peru shoppers Saturday. Mr. C. L. Bowyer came near mee'- ing with a very serious accident Tuesday while making cider.

The belt that runs the pump began slipping and he climbed to the -top of, the mill to' adjust it just as it slipped off the pulley into the gearing, throwing him but, by chance he caught hold of Homo of the timbers and escaped with onlv a 'badly bruised arm. He says he wiil never grow any more and some of the spectators were as badly scared as he was. CROOKED CREEK Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Johnson visited at Delphi over Sun'day.
