Reid of Algona visited Capt. and Mrs. Willard Mitchell of Dayton, Ohio, niece of Mrs. Reid, and Mr. and Mrs.

Nyman the former Ethel McFadden, of Dallas, Texas, on their trip to Florida. The state medical association is. in. session at Des Moines, and some local doctors are attending. Doctors, Bourne, Cretzmeyer, and Kenefick planned to go down tills Tuesday.

Gibbons, of Montgomery, Ala. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Holding left Wednesday for California and will locate at Huntington Beach. Mrs.

Holding is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mel Thompson. Mr. and Mrs.

Leonard Maasdam spent a week ago Sunday at Webster City with the latter's son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Widick who live on a farm near there. Mr. and Mrs.

Russell were visited by the latter's brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs, W. D. Hemmingson, of Des Moines last week. They spent the greater part of the time with the parents Mr.

R. Potter were recently visited by their daughter Mrs. Don McDonough and son Jimmie, of Schaller who were enroute home from Rochester. where Jimmie had surgery for polio contracted several years ago. He has made excellent recovery.

Mrs. Itnelda Engesser and son Dan spent a week ago Sunday at St James with Mr. and Mrs. Jake Clasier, uncle and aunt of Mrs. Engesser.

They also visited relatives at Crystal Lake. Mrs. Margaret HbfmasMr was visited one day last week by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Clement Felthous, of St, Paul, Minn.

Mr. Felthous was at one time associated in business with. A. D. Clark and John Edwards.

Former Resident of Swea Glly Visits SWEA CITY--William Poole, who lived here until moving to Des Moines in 1936, visited several days last -week with old friends in Swea City. Mr. Poole's. wife died last December and he now makes his home in Des Moines with his daughter, Mrs. Har- n'et Custer.

Now retired, Mr. Poole at one tune operated a sttain engine here in the days when, steam power was used for threshing machines. He reports that his son, -Lt. Col. Allen Poole of the U.

S. Air Force, now stationed at St. Louis, has from time to time since World War been stationed at various points throughout the world in his personnel work. Mr. Pcole's daughter, Helen, is the wife of Kern Blair, manager of the Kern Chevrolet Company at Newton, and his son, Francis, is with Solar Aircraft in Des Moines.
