SERVICES HRD AT WEST BIND FORW.H.RABE WEST BEND Services for William H. Rabe," 77, were held a week ago Friday, 22,., 1 p.m. at Herbert Balgeman home and 1:30 p.m. in Peace Lutheran church at West Bend. The Rev.

E. E. Greene officiated. Casket bearers were Wilmer Bleuer, Wm. Hanselraan, Ervin Harms, Lloyd Drussell, 'Albert Bell and Harold Gronbach.

A mixed octette sang, accompanied by Mrs. Tim Klein. Burial was in the West Bend cemetery with the Bogaard Funeral Home in charge. William Henry Rabe, son of William and Christine Rabe was born near West Bend Jan. 27, 1880.

He died at his home" in Pelican Rapids, Feb. 18, from a heart attack. Mr. Rabe was bom and raised in and around West Bend and lived in this vicinity until moving to Minnesota in 1908. For most of his life he was engaged in farming until about 6 years ago when he retired and moved to Pelican Rapids.

Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, Mr. Rabe was a member of Lutheran church in Pelican Rapids where a short service was held for him Wednesday morning Surviving are the brothers and sisters: Mrs. Anna Streit, Alabama; John, West Bend; Mrs. Fred Hanselman, West Bend; Mrs. Emma Bell, Mankato; Henry, Columbia Falls, Otto and Charley Pelican Rapids; Mrs.

Dora Gronbach, Livermore; Mrs. Herbert Balgeman, Mrs. Harry Drussell and Mrs. Ernest Bleuer, West Bend Farewell Dinner A family dinner was held in the Mallard Legion Hall last week Sunday honoring Mr. and Mrs.

Francis Tacke and children who left for Colorado this week. Relatives attended from Jefferson, DeWitt, DCS Moines, Malik rd, Graettinfer, Estherville, Rodman and West Bend, The group presented the honored guests with a gift. Lon Brown have moved to the Bogaard Funeral Home. The Browns will assist with funerals and ambulance service. From Mr. and Mrs. Roman Knecht moved last week from Algona to the 'J.

B. Mertz house in the Daubendiek addition. Receives Discharge Henry Lauck of Fort Crowder, arrived Sunday discharged from the. army. Breaks Ann Dave Za'ugg broke, his right arm while starting 'a gasoline engine Wednesday morning.

Larry Berninghaus visited the weekend at home. -He is now stationed at Fort Riley, Kans. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Dorweiler, Mrs.

Johri Dorweiler and Mr. and Mrs. Milford Gade left last Thursday for California where" they win visit" relatives. Fred Hoffert, who has been confined to his home the past 2 is improved. Mr. and Harvey Jacobs of Milford, visited in the Lon Brown home Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Bill Hoffert and children of Mallard, visited several days recently in the Fred Hoffert home. Mr. and. Mrs.

Guy Kuyper were supper guests last week Thursday in the Fred Kuyper home at Garner. In the evening they left for South Holland, where they visited in the G. J. Vreeman home. They returned home Tuesday.

Last week Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Matt Frideres and family were visitors at the Ben Metzger home. Last week Sunday Mr. and Mrs.

Al Thrpnson and Mrs. Lydia Vesterby visited at the Frank Stoebe home at Triumph, Minn. Mrs. Vesterby remained for a visit. Mr.

and Mrs. Arnold Ketelsen and family visited at the parental Guy Lansing home at Bode last week Sunday. Lakota Seniors to Give Glass Play LAKOTA The Senior class will present their play, The Dizzy this week Friday night, March 15, at the school gymnasium. Norma McEachran is the director. WSCS MEETINGS HELDBYLUYERME CHURCH WOMEN LU VERNE Circles of the WSCS met Wednesday. Circle 1 met with Mrs. Clifford Holmes with Mrs. Grover Rentz assisting hostess. Mrs.

Wprthie Usher was a guest. Devotional service was led by Jergensen and the lesson study was given by Mrs. Elmer Kubly. Circle 2 met with Mrs. Percy Brink.

Roll call was answered by naming a suitable plant or flower for window Devotional service was led by Mrs. Guy Giddings. Mrs. George Eggleston "gave the lesson study. Circle 3 met with Mrs.

C. W. Bjustrom, and 12 members answered roll call by giving a Bible verse, using the first letter in their name. Mrs. Dean Hislop, of Parma, was a guest.

The meeting opened, by the president, Mrs. Norman McClaran, and she accompanied the group as they sang. Devotions were led by Mrs. Allen Blake and lesson study given by Mrs. Glen Braynard.

Reading of committees for Mother-Daughter banquet on March 21 was completed. Tickets for sale were in charge of the president. An auction was held. Clothing is to be brought next meeting to send to a children's home in Sioux City. Attend Services Attending services for Mrs.

Mrs. Mabel Thompson returned Wednesday from a week's visit with her daughter Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Wolfe and family iii Fort Dodge. The two young sons, Woody and Gary Wolfe were hospitalized in Lutheran hospital with virus infections.

Aid Society Meets The Ladies Aid Society of the Zion Lutheran church met in the church rooms Thursday afternoon with 30 women present. Guesfe were Mrs. Orta Gifford and Mrs. William Olson. Business was in charge of the president, Mrs.

Herman Sdhulz. For entertainmert they listened to the state basketball game beween Maynard and LuVerne. Mrs. Henry Pergande was hostess serving refreshments. Managers Meeting Fritz Biley, new manager of the Thompson Yards went to Mankato Thursday to attend the manager's meeting at the home office.

James Meurer, his assistant, has recovered following recent surgery and in charge at the local yards. New Arrival Mr. and Mrs. Donald Miller are parents of a 9 pound. son, bom Tuesday, March 5, 1957 in the St.

Ann hospital in Algona. They have another son Tommy and a daughter Gloria. Mrs. Louis Wittenburg was hostess to her Canasta club Thursday evening. Mrs.
