Miss Scherbak, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Scherbak, of Clover Lane, Buckman Village, is presently a principal dancer of the Munich Ballet. The young dancer, now 22, has a protege of Edmund Novak nd his wife, Irina Kovalska, she studied with them at the Main Line Ballet Center, iArdmore, their first school in this founded 17 years ago. I Miss Scherbak at 18 became a Soloist with the Ballet Classico de Novak in Caracas, Venezuela.

Nina, the sister of Edmund, was a former prima fballerina of the Ballet Russe de JMonte Carlo. EDMUND, who himself had an ijmpressive dancing career in cEurope and the United States, is ithe recipient of The Laureat piploma and Lavrovski Silver Medal of Russia's Bolshoi Ballet, Tvhich was awarded during an (international dance competition Kondratieva, the present prima ballerina, won the medal. He is a graduate of Isthe Opera-Ballet and Choreo- Sgraphical State Warsaw, Poland. 4 Kovalska Ballerina in the State Opera pallet in Poland and a leading for the Ballet Russe de- Carlo. She has worked such famous American pallet stars as Melissa Hayden arid Jacques d'Amboise of New York City Ballet and Allegra Kent, Lupe Serrano and Scott Douglas of the American Ballet Theater.

NOVAK and Kovalska came to (he Philadelphia area in 1960 and have devoted their energies to intensive training of their students and to a diversifiied repertoire of classical ballet. While their schools are grounded in the principals of Classical dance, they als offer training in character and modern dance. However, their training techniques are based on the Russian-Soviet Methods. Classes are designed for all ages from children through adults, from beginning dance through pre- professional classes. new studio will be on the second floor of a modern, air- conditioned building in Swarthmore.

Meanwhile, Novak and Kovalska will continue classes at their two main studios in Ardmore and Wayne. A school that was temporarily opened last year in Clifton Heights will be qlosed and those classes transferred to Swarthmore.
