THE OSHKOSH NORTHWESTERN WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 1994 FOR THE RECORD FOR THE Norbert J. Stromske Norbert J. Stromske, 76 of Oshkosh died at his home on Tuesday September 13, 1994. He was born in Chicago, IL on June 6, 1918 the son of John and Mary Bessa Stromske. On June 20, 1944 he married June R.

Weitz in Norbert had served his country in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, June of Oshkosh; two sons, James (Kathleen) Stromske of Oshkosh and Richard (Sharon) Stromske of Devine, TX; two brothers, Ray Stromske of Chicago, IL and Arthur (Marion) Stromske of Oshkosh; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Stromske of Oshkosh, Jeff Stromske of Texas, Matthew Stromske of Arizona, and Zachary Stromske of Oshkosh.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Phillipps. Funeral service will be Thursday September 15, 1994 at 2:00 PM at the Lake View Memorial Park Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Nerenhausen officiating. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Lake View Chapel from Noon until the time of service on Thursday.

Klossowski, March 28, 1929 in Waukegan, ILL. He died May 14, 1 1941. Olga was a member of St Johns Catholic Church, a graduate of Eureka State Graded School a member of the V.F.W. Florian Lambert Aux for over 50 years. She is survived by 3 daughters: Mrs.

Kenneth had farmed in the Stratton Lake a area for many years. He was a former member of the Crystal Lake Grange. Survivors include two sons: Roger (Virginia) Cate of Auburn, and David (Cindy) Cate of Waupaca, a daughter: Sharon Robinson of Madison, 17 Grandchildren, 16 Great grandchildren, and a brother: Daniel (Jessie) Cate of Petaluma, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife: Lillian, a daughter: Shirley Peterson, his parents, and a brother: Chester. Funeral services will be held at the Poy Sippi United Methodist Church, Poy Sippi, WI.

Mar- Carmel Karau RIPON Carmel Karau, 84, of Ripon died Tuesday, September 13, 1994 at Parkview Care Center in Ripon. She was born June 5, 1910 in the Town of Green Lake the daughter of Max and Alma (Ochrich) Tettenborn. She married Reinhard Karau September 17, 1933 in the Town of Green Lake and has lived in the Ripon area since.

Reinhard preceded her in death June 18, 1988. She was a member of Mt. Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Ripon and a member of the Ladies Aid at Mt. Zion.

She is Survived by 5 nieces, 4 Nephews, 6 Great-nieces, 6 great-nenphews, 3 great-great nieces and 3 great-great nephews and 1 sister-in-law. She was also preceded in death by one Brother. Funeral services will be Thursday September 15 at Seven p.m. at Mt. Zion Ev.

Lutheran Church in Ripon with the Rev. David M. Haberkorn officiating. Burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Friends may call Thursday from 4:30 till the service at the church.

A memorial has been established. Wachholz Funeral Home of Ripon is in charge of the arrangements. Walter O. Pongratz NEKOOSA Walter 0. Pongratz, age 71, of Nekoosa, WI, formerly of Waukau and Oshkosh, died Monday, September 12, 1994, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home, Port Edwards, Wisconsin.

Funeral service 1:30 PM. Thursday at the United Church of Christ, Nekoosa. Burial will be Friday at 11:00 am at the Omro Cemetery. Mr. Pongratz was employed by Morgan Door Company of Oshkosh for 22 years.

He later owned Wally's Wampa Bar and The Corner Beverage in Nekoosa. Survived by: His wife, Doneta Hobart Pongratz; Son: Larry (Debra) Pongratz (Green Bay); Stepson: Gary (Kaye) Hobart (Neenah); Brothers: Ray (Marie) Pongratz (Berlin), George (Viola) Pongratz (Omro), Jacob (Phil) Pongratz (Meedsville, PA); Sisters: Irene Roseno (Rudolph, Margaret (Jessie) Joosten (Rudolph, Four Grandchildren. Visitation Wednesday 7:00 pm at the Funeral Hoome, Nekoosa and Thursday at church from 12:30 pm until service time. Edwin H. Challis BANNING, Calif.

Edwin H. Challis died Sunday, September 11, 1994, at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born on December 29, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York. He worked in the automobile industry all his life. He grew up in New York and raised his family there until 1969 when he moved to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

He lived in Fond du Lac for ten years and then moved to Los Angeles, California, eventually retiring in Palm Springs, California. He is survived by his Gloria, Banning, California; his daughter, Jacqueline, Oshkosh; his son, Ronald (Pamela), Santa Barbara, California; his brother, Frederick (Kate), New York; his brother-in-law and sister-inlaw, Richard and Doris Diamond, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews. Ed was quite a character. He was an avid golfer, with a quick wit, a smile, and a personality that wouldn't quit. His frequent visits to Oshkosh were always filled with laughter and fun.

If you want to know more about this project, you should contact the Department of Natural Resources, Tere Locke, and ask to see the application and plans or have a copy of the application sent to you. If you don't feel the permit should be granted, write to Tere Locke, explaining your objections.

Your letter should state why the proposed project does not comply with the statutory criteria the Department must consider when deciding to grant or deny the permit. You should also specifically ask that a contested case hearing be held and that you or your representative will attend and testify at the contested case hearing. Written obiection must be received by Tere Locke at the above address within thirty days of the date of publication of this notice. Unless timely obiections are received, the Department may grant a permit without a hearing. If a hearing is required, notice of the time and place of the hearing will be provided as required by state law.

The applicant may also need a permit from the St. Paul District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 1135 U.S. Post Office and Custom House, St. Paul, MN 55101.

If you want a copy of the Corps' public notice, ask them for one. The Department has made an initial decision to grant certification that the proiect will meet state water quality laws.
