ANPA is the only newspaper association in the world which owns and ojwrates a research laboratory for the improvement of newspaper production.

The expansion is a further step in the association's organized research program which began in 1947. Located at Easton, the laboratory was built in 1951 and expanded in 1955. With the new addition it will have 30,000 square feet of floor space including laboratory facilities for all departments of daily newspaper production, ANPA President Mark Ferree said "This expansion of our research facilities is another example of the forward-looking attitude of newspapers in their continuing effort to provide the best possible service to readers and advertisers through use of the most modern facilities.
