Sidney Pullman Goodrich RIPON In Monday's obituary for Sidney Pullman Goodrich, 325 Thorne the name of his sister, Mrs. Craig Wright, Princeton, N.J., was inadvertently omitted among the survivors. hiring County Board will answer the question, because it can be solved only through the internal workings of the county. "I can't find an anwer in the. law statutes.

The county has the power to decide this issue. I wish I could shed some more light on it," Engeldinger said, adding that Zi-arnik's grievance is heading toward arbitration. Two social service members against the personnel and finance committee ruling are Don Collins, supervisor from the city of Oshkosh and Lillian Jero, supervisor from the town of Algoma. "What is our committee for if the personnel and finance committee is making the decisions. Why not let them run the whole department," Collins said.

Mrs. Jero said Norm Whit-ford, director of the county's department of social services, must have qualified persons as social workers. She feels persons without specific degrees may reduce the department's capabilities. In other business, the committee unanimously approved the addition of a third elderly nutritional meal site at Saint Josaphat's Rectory, 1333 Walnut Oshkosh. Carol Buettner, director of the county nutritional meal sites, said more than 300 persons are now utilizing the county's eight meal sites on a regular basis.

A grievance against the county had been filed by James Ziarnik, social worker III for the department of social services, who has applied for a social worker IV vacancy, because he does not have a master's degree in social work, a standard set by the social services committee, i The county personnel and finance committee had ruled that all candidates, even though they may not have a master's degree in social work, should be eligible for consideration for the job. Meeting Monday with Gerald Engeldinger, Winnebago County corporation counsel, the social services committee decided to let the County Board settle the issue. Social services committee chairman Carole Broas, supervisor from the town of Nee-nah, said the resolution probably won't go before the County Board until budget session in October.

Engeldinger stressed to the committee that nothing can be done legally to decide which committee has jurisdiction over the hiring procedures.
