Witnesses described the thief as a white male with medium build and a large Inmate At Garner Dies Of Head Injury NEWTOWN A Hartford man serving a 15-month prison sentence for burglarizing U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd's Hartford office in 2007 died Thursday at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington.

Gilbert Soto, 50, had been taken to the health center after being found with a head injury in the shower area of the medical wing of the Garner Correctional Institution in Newtown. State police detectives said they determined that Soto became dizzy in the shower and passed out. Police said they learned that Soto had several health problems. An investigation is continuing, but troopers do not believe there is a criminal aspect, said Lt. J.

Paul Vance, a state police spokesman. Soto was arrested Aug. 27, 2007, after Hartford police responded to a burglary at Dodd's office in a building at 30 Lewis St. Police said at the time that Soto stole a TV, computer and satellite receiver, which he sold for money to buy drugs. He was sentenced April 2, 2008, to 30 months in prison.

Soto previously had served 15 years in prison for strangling a homeless man under the Columbus Boulevard overpass of the Whitehead Highway in Hartford in 1994. David Owens Man Hurt In Car Crash SOUTH WINDSOR A 21-year-old South Windsor man was injured Thursday afternoon when he lost control of his car on Dart Hill Road, between Debbie Drive and Trumbull Lane, near the South Windsor Vernon town line, and struck a tree. The man, whose name was not released, was alone in the car. The crash occurred shortly before 3 p.m. The man was taken by helicopter to St.

Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. No further information was available. David Owens Bank Branch Held Up HARTFORD Police are investigating a robbery reported about 9:20 a.m. Thursday at the Wachovia Bank branch at 10 State St. Witnesses described the robber as a dark-skinned black man, about 6 feet tall and wearing a black three-quarter length North Face jacket with a fur-trimmed hood, and black acid-washed jeans.

Police said the man walked into the bank, displayed a handgun and handed the teller a note demanding money After receiving money, the man walked out of the bank toward the Market Street garage. David Owens Ride In Trunk Leads To Arrest Of Driver WEST HARTFORD An 18-year-old local man was accused of driving across town with a boy in the trunk of his car, police said.

Brendan Dacunha, of 40 Woodmere Road, was arrested last week after witnesses reported seeing a boy climb into the trunk of his Volkswagen Jetta before it took off. The 15-year-old boy was apparently getting a ride home. "They didn't have enough room for all the kids riding in the car, so they put him in the trunk," Lt. Donald Melanson said. Police said Dacunha drove for about 3 miles with the boy locked in his trunk on Dec.

23. The boy was not injured. Dacunha was charged with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, reckless driving and several motor vehicle violations. Jenna Carlesso Man Charged With Killing His Daughter GREENWICH Police officers sent to a Sterling Road home Wednesday said they found a 55-year-old man with numerous cuts and his 20-year-old daughter dead. Adam Dobrzanski was arrested Thursday and charged with murder after he was released from the hospital.

He was held, with bail set at $1 million, and is to be arraigned Monday in Superior Court in Stamford. Dobrzanski had made suicidal threats to someone who then asked police to check on him and his daughter, Amanda, police said. Adam Dobrzanski was found on a bed, and his daughter's body was found in another room, police said. She had a large cut on her neck, police said.
