B6 SUNDAY, AUGUST 5, 2012 THE HARTFORD COURANT OBITUARIES MASTRIANNI, Alice LINEHAN, Kathleen Anne KLARE, Henry Adolph LEBLANC, Mary Lou (Bragdon) W7A Henry Adolph Klare, 90, of Rocky kHill, passed away on Thursday, July 26 at the State Veterans Hospital in Rocky Hill. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Gottfried and Ernestine (Wunsch) Klare. Henry was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army earning the rank of Sergeant and worked as a carpenter for many years. Henry is survived by a son, Glenn Klare, of Haddam; a sister, Ruth Klare, of Middletown; and a brother, Warren Klare, of Rockfall. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 7 at 10 a.m.

at Levitow Health Care Facility Chapel, (Grounds of State Veterans' Hospital) 287 West Street, Rocky Hill. JONES, Roger Sheldon Today we mourn the passing of an original Yankee farmer. Roger Sheldon Jones passed on to heaven on August 3, 2012 at his home in Ft Plain, NY. A deeply religious man, he spent his life working the earth to which he will return. Roger was born December 15, 1922 in New Britain, CT to Arthur Raymond Jones and Lena (White). He spent his entire life as a dairy farmer in Southington, Avon, Granby, and most recently Ft.

Plain, NY. Avery patriotic man, he served his country's need for agriculture production on the home front during WWII. His favorite things were kitties, country music, John Deere tractors and the color purple. Roger was predeceased by his wife Mary (Distin) and a brother Raymond. Surviving siblings are Richard, Henry, and John Jones, Audrey Hardy, and Barbara Godfrey.

Roger was fortunate to spend his last days cared for by his eldest son David and David's fiancee Louella Johnson. He is also survived by his children Doris Kaczmarek and husband Ed of Bradenton, FL, Edward Jones and wife Si-mone of Rocky Hill, Patricia Carone of Newington, and Susan Jones of Middletown; along with five grandchildren, Kimberly Baumann, Bonnie Lutes, Betsy Bray, Amy Martin, Sue Ainsley and Mark Wamester; and five great grandchildren, Phillipp, Katelyn, Dillon, Megan, and Joe. He leaves behind a legacy of gentle kindness. Services will be held at noon Tuesday at Vincent A. Enea Funeral Home in St Johnsville NY, followed by a graveside service.

KNIGHT, Burton S. HANRAHAN, Karen Karen Hanrahan went home to be with Jesus on August 3, 2012 after a long battle with diabetes. She was born on April 1, 1955 to Daniel and Mary (Orban) Hanrahan. She was raised in Enfield, CT and went to St. Francis School of Nursing in Hartford, CT.

Karen met, and then married the love of her life Harlan Emery on December 15, 1979. Karen was a loving mother to her two daughters, Elizabeth and Sarah. She worked as a nurse for many years in both hospitals and home health nursing. Karen was a longtime member of the Pathway Vineyard in Lewis-ton. She enjoyed taking vacations with her family and friends, traveling to Scotland, Ireland, and the Greek Isles; as well as the Caribbean, Cape Cod, and Disney World with her granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her husband Harlan, her parents Daniel and Mary, and her in-laws Harlan and Mildred Emery. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth and her husband Peter Lederhouse; her daughter Sarah Bly and her boyfriend Bob Lavallee; her sister Danielle Hanrahan and her partner Elaine Wintman; and her beautiful granddaughter Kathleen Lederhouse. Karen is also survived by her brother-in-law Scott Emery and his wife Sharon, her niece Errin Will-liams and husband Christopher of Fritch, TX and their children Javan and Chloe, her nephew Brian Emery; her brother Michael Hanrahan and his wife Karen of Broadbrook, CT, and their children Nathanial Hanrahan and his wife Rebecca of Trafalger, IN, and Michael Hanrahan and his wife Tesla of Tacoma, WA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends. A celebration of life service will be held at the Pathway Vineyard on Foss Road in Lewiston, ME on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 6 p.m. HARPER, Robert Thomas Kathleen Anne (Perruc-cio) Linehan, 58, of Tampa, FL passed away at home Wednesday (August 1, 2012) after a six year battle with Ovarian cancer.

She was born on December 15, 1953 in Middletown, CT, the daughter of Salvatore and Sophia Perruccio currently residing in Old Say-brook, CT. Kathleen received her bachelor's degree in English from Central Connecticut State University. She went on to teach high school in Connecticut and was a home-bound tutor in Connecticut and Arizona. Kathy is survived by her husband James A. Linehan; her son Stefan T.

Linehan, his wife Yuko and their two children Kai-sei and Ryusei; her son Nicholas M. Linehan, his wife Samantha and their two children Thomas and Benjamin; her sister Lisa (Perruccio) Rufo (Joe); her brother Matteo D. Perrucio; and nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her many friends around the world. The wake service will be held on Monday, August 6, from 4-8 p.m., at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown, CT.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian's Church, 155 Washington Street, Middletown, CT. Flowers can be arranged through Wild Orchid Florist in Middletown. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation in honor of Kathy may be made to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Mary Lou (Bragdon) Le-Blanc, 84, wife of the late Roland W.

LeBlanc, passed away Friday (August 3, 2012) after an extended illness. Born in Auburn, ME, to the late Mary (Lawless) Osgood and Ernest Bragdon, and pre-deceased by her siblings, Bernice Baxter, Theresa (Pat) Miller, Kenneth and Donald Bragdon. She leaves behind a son, William LeBlanc, and a granddaughter, Lindsay Le-blanc, of South Portland, ME; her loving daughter, Karen Grady of Simsbury, as well as her grandchildren, Thomas Grady, Daniel Grady and wife Michelle, Elizabeth Bourne and her husband Dave. She also leaves two great-grandchildren, Delilah and David, and a step great-granddaughter, Caitlynn. After the family moved to Connecticut, Mary Lou worked outside the home in the late 50's and 60's in various clerical positions.

In her "retirement" years, she was a receptionist at Governors House in Simsbury. Her greatest joy was in caring for her family and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She shared her love of sewing, handcrafts, baking and reading and loved playing board games and cards with them. Most Saturdays she could be found scouring the tag sales for a great bargain. Mary Lou will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

A special thank you to the staff of Governors House and the Farmington Valley VNA, who cared for her in her time of need. No calling hours. Memorial services will be at the convenience of the family. LIDDY, Michael B. Alice (Jorgensen) Mastri-anni, 82, of Plainville, passed away at home, with her family by her side, on Thursday (August 2, 2012). Born in Hartford on February 15, 1930, Alice was the eldest of three daughters of the late Emanuel and Elna (Pieper) Jorgensen. A lifelong Plainville resident, she was a 1948 graduate of Plainville High School, where she was voted Homecoming Queen. She married her neighbor and childhood sweetheart, Alfred "Sonny" Mastrianni, in 1950, with whom she shared 62 years of love and devotion.

She attended Tunxis College and worked for over 30 years as an office manager at Job Plating, a family owned business. In addition to raising their two sons, she was a member of the Plainville Senior Center, the Historical Society and the Civil Air Patrol, and taught children's religious education at the Congregational Church of Plainville. She also supported their sons during their scouting years as a leader for Pack 49. She had a special fondness for animals, leaving behind her faithful feline companion, Chloe. A woman with many talents, she was a self-taught artist, who excelled at oil painting, enjoyed flower gardening and bowling and was a proud sharpshooter.

A beautiful person inside and out, she will be remembered most for her kind heart and love for her family, leaving them with many cherished memories. Alice is survived by her husband, Alfred, sons and daughters-in-law, Steve (Deb) Mastrianni of Unionville and Bob (Pat) Mastrianni of Plainville; grandchildren Rob Mastrianni, Tracy Sulman, Steve, Jeff and Laura Mastrianni, and great-grandson Robbie; sisters Jean Jorgensen of Bristol and Betty Ann (John) Moore of Libertyville, IL; inlaws Catherine (Tony) Bado-lato, Mickey (Honey) Mastrianni and Mary Lou (Eddie) Reccord; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may gather on Tuesday evening, August 7, from 6-8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St, Plainville. A ceremony in celebration of her life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 8 pm.

Committal services will be private. Burton S. Knight, ,79, of Canton, be hoved husband of Robert Thomas Harper of Farming- ton, beloved hus MAHAR, Flora J. Betty (Taft) Knight died Saturday, (August 4, 2012) at John Dempsey Hospital. He was born August 17, 1932 in Hartford, son of the late Edwin E. and Hilda (Smith) Knight and had lived in We-thersfield prior to moving to Canton 29 years ago.

Burton was a graduate of the University of Hartford and the University of Connecticut, having received two Bachelor's Degree. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in the Korean War, spending nine months in the 2nd Infantry Division, 23rd Regiment First Battalion Charlie Company. Among his awards were a Combat Infantry Badge and a Presidential Citation Badge.

Mr. Knight retired from the Hartford Insurance Group after 25 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post 2138 in Rocky Hill. Beside his loving wife of 48 years, he leaves his daughter, Suzanne Elizabeth Knight; three grandchildren, Matthew Mercier, Aaron Mercier and Emma Michaud; his twin brother, Edwin E. Knight and his wife Catherine and two nieces, Linda Kehoe and Katherine Knight.

"Brian" Liddy, 79, of New-Ungton, died peace Rene Joseph Ledoux, 84, died on Friday (August 3, 2012) at his home in Dan-vers, MA. He was born in Woonsocket, Rl on October 21, 1927, son of the late Hormisdas and Corinne Ledoux. He was a lifelong resident of Norwich, CT and communicant of St. Patrick's Cathedral. He is survived by Lillian Ledoux, his wife of 60 years, his son Ronald Ledoux and wife Cheryl of Charlotte, NC, son Gary Ledoux and wife Beth of Amarillo, TX, son Mark Ledoux of San Diego, CA, daughter Jayne (Ledoux) Rice and husband Chris of Manchester, MA, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A graduate of the University of Rhode Island and the University of Connecticut, Rene was employed by Norwich Free Academy from 1953 through 1989 as a teacher, baseball and football coach, administrator and Athletic Director. During his 22-year tenure as NFA's baseball coach he achieved a win-loss record of 241-153, which included 9 CDC Championships, 14 Connecticut State Tournament appearances and back-to-back State Championships in 1960 and 1961. He also coached football and baseball at the United States Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT and Bacon Academy, Colchester, CT respectively. He is a member of the Connecticut High School Coaches Hall of Fame, the NFA Sports Hall of Fame and the Norwich Bulletin Hall of Fame. He was also very active in the Norwich community youth sports programs.

Rene, a veteran of the United States Army Air Force, was active for 28 years in the Lodge of Elks. He also served in the Knights of Columbus for 27 years, holding the office of Grand Knight in 1987 1991. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and at the local casinos. He will be cremated and memorialized at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Norwich, CT on Monday August 6, 2012 at 2 p.m.

He graduated from Rye High School, Class of 1942 and attended Pratt Institute. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Bob was a fifteen year member of the Federal Lodge 17 AF AM in Watertown. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved golfing. Prior to retiring he was an engineer with Lycoming Industries in Stratford.

Besides his wife, Robert is survived by his four children, Donald L. Smith and his wife Judith of Watertown, Lynda S. Veleas of Farmington, Barbara-Jean Fitting and her husband Jeff of Barkhamsted and Denise MacGregor and her husband Thomas of Ivo-ryton, one sister Jessie Harper of Rye, New York, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as "Great Funeral services will be held Monday, August 6 at 7 p.m. in The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Street, Unionville, followed by the Masonic service. MURPHY, Joan Golden Rare memories of loved ones Flora J. Mahar, 75, loving wife of Thomas Mahar, died August 1, 2012, surrounded by her family. Flora was the daughter of the late Edmund and Lucile McClar-non. She was a graduate of Saint Joseph Academy, Cleveland, OH, and the College of St. Rose with a BA in Sociology.

Flora dedicated her life to her family as a caring wife, mother and fulltime homemaker. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Mary and Margaret of We-thersfield, Brian and his wife Liz of Washington, DC, her brother William and his wife Kiyo McClarnon of Georgia, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Helen Mueller and brother Michael McClarnon. For more than 30 years, Flora volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels. She also volunteered to assist the Sacristan at the Church of the Incarnation.

While not a baseball fan, she never missed any of Brian's Little League games, Mary's piano recitals or Maggie's Camp-fire Girls events. For the past 20 years she worked part-time at the Wethers-field Registrar of Voters office. Flora and Tom enjoyed traveling throughout the United States including Hawaii, and Canada and Europe. Flora loved bowling, tennis and playing bridge. She was a member of the same bridge group for 40 years.

This group of wonderful women loved to chat, eat munchies and occasionally play a few hands of bridge. The family is grateful for the care of Dr. Lynn Davis and his nursing staff, the nurses at the Day Hospital at St. Francis, Masoni-care hospice and St. Mary Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St. Wethersfield, CT. All are asked to go directly to church. The burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Wickham Rd, Glastonbury.

He was the beloved husband of the late Anna T. (Gargan) Liddy. Born in Ireland, he immigrated to New York City, and upon joining the West Hartford Police he lived in Newington and West Hartford. In 1991, he retired from the West Hartford Police Dept. after 25 years of service and was a Veteran of the U.S.

Army. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington. Mr. Liddy was also a life member of the Irish American Home in Glastonbury, the Irish Northern Aid, Hartford Chapter, and a charter member of the LAPD Emerald Society, as well as a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Newington Seniors and a former member of the American Legion in West Hartford. Mr.

Liddy is survived by his son Brian D. Liddy of Cas-taic, CA, his daughter Maureen Liddy of Newington, and his grandchildren, Brian Michael Liddy, Megan Elizabeth Liddy and James Patrick Liddy. He also leaves his brother Dermot Liddy and his sister Iris Liddy, both of Derry City, Ireland, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Ireland. His funeral service will begin on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.

at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in West Meadow Cemetery, with police and military honors. She was born in Hartford on November 23, 1951 to the late Mary (Weglarz) Golden and Frank Golden Sr. She was the widow of the late Richard Murphy. She leaves, lovingly, a daughter, Mary Pat Murphy; and two special granddaughters, Dara and Samantha Gillanders, all of Lexington, OK.

She also leaves her brother, Frank Golden and his wife Joanne of Cromwell. Joan was raised in Rocky Hill where she graduated from Rocky Hill High School, Class of 1969. A Mass will be celebrated at St. John Church in Cromwell on Tuesday, August 7 at 11 a.m. The family will receive visitors at 10:30 a.m.

at St. John Church prior to Mass. emory Obituary Tributes KUPRIS, Juris Juris Kupris, 59, son of Vilma and Voldemars Kupris, died Friday (July 20, 2012) at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in West Haven. He was born March 5, 1953 in Williamantic. He attended Bolton High School and MCC for Culinary School.

Mr. Kupris, served as a photographer in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Afterwards, he returned home to take over the family business, Kupris Latvian Home Bakery in Bolton. An avid fisherman, he spent his last few years in Florida and the Keys, living near the ocean. He is survived by his son, Juris Kupris Jr.

of New York City; and daughter, Larisa Kupris of Providence, Rl; as well as his brother Paulis Kupris and sister llze Taylor of Storrs. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brothers Imants and Valdis Kupris. The family will hold a Memorial on August 11 from 2-5 p.m. at 159 Woodland Road in Coventry.
