The alternate committemen become aternate delegates to the convention. The county convention will be held at the Marion County ASC Office on September 27, 1968, at 10:00 A.M. After the county committeemen are elected, the delgates' determine which of the regular committeemen will serve as the committee chairman and vice chairman for the coming year. ASC county land community farmer-committees tare in charge of local administration of such national programs as the Agricultural Conservation Program, the national wool program, commodity loans, storage facility loans, the feed grain program and the wheat program.

Mr.Crippen, who resides in Odin-Sandoval Community, is a well known cattle feeder and buyer and does general farming. He has been a member of the County Committee for twelve years and served as Com-, munity Committeeman for several years prior to that time. Mr jKell, who has served on the County Committee for fourteen years, lives in Raccoon Township where he and his son maintain a large dairy operation and also do general farming.

Mr. Charlton, who was a Community Committeman for a number of years, has been a member of the County Committee for three years. He lives in Haines Township where he does general farming. Mr. Crippen was elected for a three year term, while Mr.

Charlton has one year remaining on his term and Mr. Kell two years. Mr. Wilkinson, who resides and farms in Meacham Township, will become active if a vacancy occure in the committee of regular members. Mr.
