Then he learned that he had been re-named by the Chinese. His name was "Richard Gor" and "Richard Gor" he will remain, at least as far as Los Angeles' Chinatown is concerned. 'Richard Gor" Gubbins told him, means "Brother Richard" and signifies the greatest possible respect.

and Mrs. Lote Gollihier. Mr. and Mrsf Otis Wine of Win- "The Fighting Cheat" featuring ally Wales (The Cowboy Prince) is playing at the Pastime theatre Friday. It is difficult for any picture to beat this one for love, action, pathos.

There are some of the most exciting fights ever shown in movies in this picture. WaHy Wales is as handsome as his many thousands of enthusiastic ad-" mirers proclaim him to be. The very Wally Wales "The Fighting Cheat" Packed with action, thrills, spills and genuine drama. also close translation of his studio title, is simply "Director Luther." Gubbins, who acted as technical advisor during production, also has a Chinese cognomen. He is known to Chinatown as "Tom Sook" which is Chinese for "Uncle Tom." It's rather a term of affection, most likely applied because he gets his friends jobs in the movies.

The Chinese atmosphere was care-' fully maintained in producing "Shanghai Bound" which is the story of a river boat captain's rescue of a party of American tourists from a horde of hunger-mad pirates. Dix plays the bucko captain, with Miss Brian cast as an American heiress. It is said to be Dix most thrilling picture. prices are the usual Murray admis- a sion. un, yes: mere wm ue me usual horns, whistle, and confetti to make it a gala carnival of good time.

SHOW At the Ritz everything is ready to star cast headed by Walter McGrail and Lillian Rich, recites the ro-j mantic story of a Canadian orphan girl, who, through the perfidy of an Indian maid, is compelled to follow the two adversaries to their fighting retreat, and, when the villain in the piece is about to shoot her true lover from ambush, steps in and wounds the "heavy" just as the latter is about to pounce on the stricken lover. MURRAY VAUDEVILLE The five act Keith vaudeville bill that is being presented today and tcmorrow at the Murray has a number of turns that nearly stop the show at each performance. Such acts are the usual type that the Murray theatre has been presenting for some time and are a revelation to those who stop in for an evening's entertainment. On the bill are J.

P. McLinn and company whose acts hold the audience in suspense and offers many laughs. There are lines upon lines of hills to be been as the background of the pic-ture while much of the action takes place over and about a cavernous rock formation which makes up the top of one mountain alone. There are jumps off cliff edges and all manner of thrills. Taken all in all this picture could, without a bit of exaggeration be called one that would please any audience at any time.

That is really saying it most conservatively. There' "Ha no i one among her own men she can trust, so she writes to her father's best friend that she is in trouble. The friend is dead, but his son answers the call. He comes to Bar None as a tenderfoot and is given a great razzing for his dude clothes and his ignorance of ranch ways.
