Waite Claims Jean Sykes as Bride in Portsmouth, Virginia Among the 200 guests who attended the wedding of Miss Jean Sykes and George E. Waite of Waukesha this afternoon in Portsmouth, were several from Waukesha, including Mrs. A.

R. Morton, Mrs. H. A. Youmans; the Misses Ann Morton, Carol Mickelson, Sally Johnson, Nancy Roberts.

Pewaukee guests were Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Holt, and William Perry of Wauwatosa, was also present.

from Petersburg, were Messrs. and Mmes. L. Arnold, Robert Waite, Louis Welford, Harry James and Mr. Remmie Arnold, Jr.

Mrs. E. W. Hamilton of Roanoke, was also present. Miss Barbara Hamilton of Roanoke, was maid of honor, and her gown of dusty pink marquisette featured an off-the-shoulder design, having a shirred bodice and peplum. Bridal aides Miss Barbara Lee of Norfolk, were, in aqua, and Miss Eleanor Staples of Tampa, in yellow, their marquisette gowns being designed with cap sleeves and peplums. Business Girls Close Club Year Business Girls' club of the YWCA has closed its regular club year and formal meetings, and will begin its informal summer program next week-end, when members of the club will journey to Oconomowoc to attend the Port Players' production. Return from Hospital George Weining has returned to his home at Inavale farm from Memorial hospital where he underwent an operation about a week ago. Lee Chapman Home Lee Chapman has arrived at his home Elmwood farm for the summer. Lee has been enrolled at Iowa State college at Ames, Iowa, during the second semester. He reports that the conditions of Iowa and southern Illinois are quite critical. Glengarry School Closed Glengarry school recently concluded its school term with a community picnic under the direction of the teacher, Mrs.

Donald Williams, Miss Anna Jane Griffiths of Bethesda has been engaged as teacher for the coming year. Attend Spafford-Brandon Wedding Mrs. Henry Hubman and Glenn accompanied by William Smith and Miss Nell Smith have returned from Rockford, where they attended the wedding of the former Miss Betty Jane Spafford to Warren Earl Brandon. The ceremony took place in the Court Street Methodist church and reception for about 300 guests followed in the church parlors. Cousin Was Best Man Cousin of the bridegroom, William Staab, served as best man. The ushers were Fred Plehn, another cousin of the bridegroom, and Edward Miller, the bride's brother, For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Miller chose a black and white print dress, her corsage being of red roses. Mrs. Plehn, the bridegroom's mother, wore light blue and her corsage was of yellow roses.

Both mothers wore white hats. When Mr. and Mrs. Plehn, both graduates of Waukesha high school, return from their honeymoon, they will reside on Williams st. Those who entertained for the bride were the Mmes.
