Second Addition. POINT PLEASANT, W. Va. By Max Knight BROOKVILLE Although there is some doubt as to the Immediate future of the Brook-ville Reservoir, the Army Corps of Engineers and the State of Indiana are proceeding with park site plans. John Mitchell, director of the Department of Natural Resources, supplied the accompanying map and listed each of the proposed park areas.

Names of the park areas are temporarily used here to designate the areas but Mitchell said the Franklin County and Union County Historical Societies probably will have final say on park names. The original schedule of construction called for a contract to be let early next spring for-work on the reservoir dam. However, with a cutback on nonessential spending by the government already by the House and in Senate committee, officials of the Army Corps at Louisville fear a slowing or stoppage of the reservoir construction. Corps officials already have determined there is little chance of contracts for the dam being advertised in January as first announced. "But," warned Mitchell, "we cannot stop our state efforts on the assumption that the money may not be available from the federal government." Plans Outlined He then presented the proposed plans for the reservoir.

Total cost of these proposed plans nears the $19 million mark. However, the parks are designated to handle over 50,000 people daily. Starting at the dam, bottom of the map, and working clockwise, here is a list of the proposed park plans: Battlepoint: This area is to cost $1.75 million and is to handle 7,900 people daily. There are to be 296 picnic units, 470 campsites (106 tents, 319 trailers and 45 group), two restaurant concessions, 306-car parking capacity and nine miles of roads.
