16.That is the night that the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins are set to play their final regular season game in the Orange Bowl and on national television. Traditionally, pro football has stayed away from Friday night games so it will not take attention from high school games. There is talk about moving the Dolphins-Jets game, but as it stands, that game would steal a lot of viewers from the high school game on TV. ALL COURT Reg. $24.95 11 695 IS press guide, including a mid-book fol-dout of four Seminole stars.

In the centerfold, the quartet of athletes was dressed up and sent over to the state Capitol to pose in front of the giant Senate seal. In the poses, quarterback Kelly Lowrey was called the Secretary of State, running back Greg Allen was called the Secretary of Transportation, defensive end Al-phonso Carreker was called the Secretary of Defense and center Tom McCormick was called the Secretary of the Interior. The exposure continued with televised road games everywhere except Tulane and the announcement that WTBS had bought the rights to the FSU-Louisville game and moved it to next Thursday night. Then there was last Saturday. In WCTV's pregame show, Gene Deck-erhoff and Bob Warren labeled the oft-ignored Seminole offensive line "the Beef People" and even used a little bit of the Winn-Dixie song while showing footage of hefty hunks Jamie Dukes and Herbert Harp.

You will be able to see the Class AAAA state title football game, the Class AAAA state title boys' basketball game and a state title girls' basketball game not necessarily the Class AAAA game. All of this is worth $25,000 to the FHSAA.

GOODS Dear Marcus: Guess what? Praise the puck and slap that shot, hockey has come to Tallahassee. No longer will you have to call the Democrat late every night while we're on deadline and ask for a score on your Minnesota North Stars. That's because the USA Network, the official network of the National Hockey League, has announced its schedule for the rest of this year. There will be 13 games on cable TV through December and 20 more in 1984. And then USA will telecast 20 to 25 playoff games, including all of the best-of-seven Stanley Cup finals.

That's more action than you'll find anywhere, including the Civic Center's ticket window. The fun will begin for you as early as next Thursday when your buddies, those mighty Minnesotans, tangle with Montreal at 8:30 p.m. If I know you, Marcus, you'll be taking notes throughout the game so you can rehash the action between classes the next day. It's great news for you, I know, and I'm glad I was the one who told you. Keep in touch, OK? Let's have lunch some time (have your people call my people).

Your pal, Paul C. This wasn't meant to be a personalized column. But I know that just as soon as one of our fine editors slaps a headline on top of it, and the word "hockey" is included, therp will be only one person in the entire Big Bend who reads it and that's Marcus. Marcus is a nice guy who just happens to be from Minnesota and goes to school at Florida State. He is the only guy who, in my 3 years of working at the Democrat, has ever called to ask for a hockey score.

He is the only one who has ever complained about our hockey coverage and mentioned Minnesota in the same sentence (he's OK, he also likes baseball.) So Marcus, this column's for you. And by the way, Marcus, our new boss here in your favorite sports department has instructed us to run hockey stories and box scores every night so we can be a more complete sports section. You're welcome. 1 rv. in 4 t.

Commissioner Steve Hatchell said a record 31 games are to be telecast as part of two separate regional syndication packages set up with Sports Productions of Dallas and the Tanner Sports Network of Memphis, Tenn. The Metro also will have a 12-game NBC-TV and CBS-TV schedule, including eight non-conference contests and four conference games. The championship game of the Metro tournament from Memphis in March is to be televised nationally by CBS, with the preliminary round and semifinal games telecast regionally by Sports Productions. In addition, Hatchell said, Metro will have nine appearances on the USA cable network and two on ESPN. There's no word yet as to how many times the Seminoles will make an appearance, but it is sure to be a few.
