PAGE EIGHT FACTOiKlDNAPING SEENASHOAX British Believe Abduction is Ruse to Prevent Extradition to England ASKS GOVERNMENT TO PRODUCE HIM MONITOR-INDEX AND DEMOCRAT, MOBERLY, MO. SATURDAY EVENING, JULY 8, 1933 CHICAGO, July 8 --New complications were injected today into the already complicated case of Chicago's missing- stock broker--John Factor--when the British government demanded his apprehension, in the belief he is trying to escape extradition to England. The demand for his capture was made by the British consul, Lewis Bernays, and Attorney Franklin R. Overmyer, representing-' the British crown. Overmyer said the request was made of Melvin Purvis, head of the Chicago office of the United States bureau or" investigation.

"It's up to the United States now to produce," Overmyer was quoted as saying. Factor is wanted in England where he is accused of having swindled British investors out of $7,000,000, and an appeal by Factor to prevent extradition is now pending in the United States supreme court. The representatives of Great Britain said they were convinced Factor's disappearance a week ago today, when he was reported seized by armed men after leaving an outlying roadhouse, was a hoax, designed to prevent his return to England. They added they believed that the reported kidnaping of Factor's 19- year-old son, Jerome, last spring, was merely a prelude to his father's disappearance. HUNTSVILLE By Mrs.

BELL, Street From the exhibitors's point of view the reunion of Jean Harlow and Clark Gable in "Hold Your Man" is the answer to the picture-man's prayer. And the movie-goers' too, for that matter. Ever since they smashed their way to success together in "Red Dust," the biggest part of the country has been howling for more of their particular brand of love-making. This is it. The picture gets all mixed up with the interior of a woman's reform school as its background.

Jean changes her usual garb of feathery finery for a prison uniform of" starched denim. Gable, as the mail whose kisses get her in all the trouble, also lanas in jail himself. Stuart Erwin, ever capable, hands out the laughs. Dorothy Burgess, Muriel Kirkland a others complete the cast. The Story Chased by the police, Clark hides in the apartment of the luscious Jean.

They get acqauint- cd and decide to team up. After being in jail for a short time because of a crooked deal, Clark gets out again to get into new trouble. Some of his pals are using Jean as the "bait" in a "badger game." Clark arrives to mess tihngs up and also to be accused of murder when the victim is killed in a scrap that follows. The police close in. Ruhy, anticipating a baby, is captuved and sent to the reformatory.

Clark, seized later, is sent on his way to the "big house." You'd better see for yourself how the producers manage to effect a happy ending this time. BED OF ROSES Produced by RKO. Directed by Gregory La C'nva. Showing Grand: Wednesday, Thursday. The Cast Lory Constance Bennett Mike Joel McCrca Paige John Halliday Minnie Pert Helton Doran Samuel Hinds and others.

an apartment. Joel McGrea is the young he-man lover who finally makes a "good woman" out of her. Pert Kelton, a newcomer, is Connie's pal and running-mate. Pert was featured with Ziegfeld before the flickers got her. She contributes no little to the picture and manages to make even La Bennett fight for acting honors.

The Story Pert and Connie are just a couple of reform school girls who have graduated. They are occupied in "working -their way" up and down the Mississippi river. At New Orleans Connie meets the tired business man, John Halliday, and takes a liking to him. Everything is going along swell when the handsome Joel comes into her life. Of course Connie falls in love with him, but he doesn't think she's so hot.

There is plenty of excitement and some snappy dialogue before the final fade-out. You'll have to see it yourself to find out what Connie does about Joel. And vice versa. MAN FROM HELL'S EDGES Produced by World Wide. Directed by R.

Peewee Holmes and George Hayes furnish a gdod measure of comedy relief.
