Rose Wiseman, Mrs. Dorothy Vanderslice and Mrs. Lydia GOG Lookout Post To Be On City Hall Roof Location of the Casa Grande Ground Observers Corps lookout post atop the police station has been approved by the Casa Grande City Council. Earlier plans to locate the lookout post on the r.oof of the Paramount Theater were changed when difficulties arose over construction of an access to the roof. It would have been necessary to cross over adjoining roofs to get to the lookout station and it was felt that the access would be a hazard to businesses in the area because it would allow anyone to get on the tops of the buildings.

The council approved a request by A. Lawrence, chief observer for the local unit who reported that pledges in the amount of $350 had been obtained and that additional funds would be solicited to make the necessary! construction. Local citizens who wish to contribute to the erection of the lookout tower, which is to become a 24-hour station as soon as sufficient personnel have been recruited, may do so by sending their checks made out to Ground Observers Corps, Casa Grande; Unit, to either Lawrence or Harry Little. They would like to raise an additional $400 to $500. Members of the GOC are standing watches at the present time at their homes arid are making their reports to the Tucson Filter Center from their home phones.

The glass and aluminum structure that will be placed atop the police station will have gas and electricity and telephone service. Mrs. Fritzinger, fruit cake chairman, stated that most of the fruit cakes had been sold but a few are still available, Orders are taken by the chairman or Mrs. Buckingham.

Lem Fritzinger is in charge of arrangements for the Christinas baskets to be distributed by the Auxiliary to the families of needy veterans. Co-hostesses for the Monday meeting were Mrs. Hornaday -and Mrs. Stella Westmoreland. Apple sauce cake and coffee were served.
