Before the machine made the flight I re marked that the wood propellers were not of the proper construction seconds after the accident hap pened the big machine appeared like a bird with a broken wing The forward side of the machine struck the ground first Wright and Selfridge were in their usual position on the seats when they landed They were not thrown out All the mechanical devices remained intact though tho braces anT canvas work were wrecked accident was due entirely to tne defective propeller The aeroplane was under perfect control and the accident certainly not due to any fault of opera tion" Assistant Makes Examination While the surgeons were at work set ting Mr leg he asked an at tendant to carry word to his assistant Mr Taylor to ask him to examine the wrecked machine to ascertain if there was anything wrong with the transmis sion Mr Taylor after examining the wreck stated ho did not think there was anything wrong with the transmission Among the eye witnesses was Charles lint of New York International repre sentative of the Wright brothers Mr lint came over from New York to sce the flight and was accompanied to ht Myer bv Admiral and Mrs Bronson Mr lint said
