Citrus Davis Shoe Repair Rowland Wins First Annual Tournament i Rowland union elementary school I won the first Charter Oak annual 1 invitational basketball tournament for grammar school teams. The Rowland five defeated the Covina elementary school ,31 to 20 in the final game of the division championship bracket.

Rowland gained the finals by defeating Harding Military school, 62 Jto 4 and Merwin 20 to 13. Covina defeated La Verne Heights 29 to 18 and Charter Oak 43 to 5. Bill Coplin coached the championship team. Charter Oak won the division championship with a 19 to 18 overtime victory over Rowland in the finals. In this division Charter Oak defeated Harding Military 47 to 12 and received a forfeit from Merwin.

Rowland defeated Covina 31 to 23. The individual sportsmanship i award went to C. Hood of the land team in the division. G. Thompson of Charter Oak and F.

Nodal of Rowland, won the sportsmanship award in the division. Rowland and Harding won the team sportsmanship awards in the division. Rowland and Charter Oak won similar awards in the division. Leading the scoring in the division was Hood of Rowland with 80 points. Hood scored 42 points in one game.

Leading scorer in the division was Nodal of Rowland with' 1 23 points. Nodal scored 17 points I in one game.
