A ladies and mens race was held and Angie Barreca and Joe Vince discovered they were the speediest Winners in the balloon throw included Al Scarneccia and Pete CaJagero for the children and Lsnda Altaero and Phil Sisk for the adults. An egg throwing contest, a must at all picnics, ended with finalists Mike Wasser Jr.

Cammacks Plan Open House For 25th Anniversary GIRARD Mr and Mrs. J.D. Cammack, 718 Lawrence hold open house in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary Saturday evening. August 28, from 8 pjn. to midnight.

Mrs. Cammack is the former Julia Luarde. Assisting for the party at the Cammack home will be Mrs. Beatrice Sutherland. Mrs.

Angelina Ameduri, and Joseph Perry. The couple was married in August, 1940, at St. Rose Church, and Airs. Cammack has lived in Girard all her life. Mrs.

Matyi Gives Convention Report GIRARD Rose Marie Rog- ozzine. Homecoming queen contestant, sponsored by the Women's Auxiliary of Girard Eagles, was introduced as a special guest and then presented with a lovely gift from the group when they met recently at the FOE HalL A report was given by Junior Past Madam President Rita Matyi on the national convention held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada August 11 through 14. to which she was a delegate. Newly elected Grand Madam President of the National is Mrs. Francis Vanis of Geneva.

Ohio. Other local members attending the convention were president Mary Bortmas, Helen McCIure and Florence Barton. Mrs. Mary Bortmas will preside at the next regular meeting Sept. 7.

Officers will meet at 7 p.m and members at 8 p-m. 14, at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. Youngstown. The Rev. Joseph lati of Saints Peter and Paul Church, Canton officiated at the 12 o'clock noon ceremony and bestowed the papal blessing. Two large vases of mums and ferns decorated the altar, and George Wargo provided traditional organ music.

A High Nuptial mass was sung by Ralph Ranalii. Escorted and given in marriage by her father for the double ring service, the bride was lovely in an elegant traditional gown of peau de soie and reembroidered atencon lace. The sculptured bodice was fashioned with a high scoop neckline. Dior sleeves, and a fitted midriff apphqued in lace. Her semWome skirt featured front appliques and a carriage back with a side panel of alen- con lace etched in pearl and crystal beading which added elegance to the formal chapel train.

She wore a matching illusion bouffant veil attached to a matching lace crown etched in pearl and crystal beading and carried a crescent of white roses, stepbanotis, and ligustrum leaves. Kaaren Kasmer was maid ot honor for her sorority sister, and bridesmaids were Bridget lati, niece of the bride, and a cousin of the bride. Clara Pascate. All wore long'powder blue gowns of blue chiffon over taffeta. The bodice, with an empire waistline, was appliqued with flowers and highlighted by three-quarter length sleeves.

The relaxed sheath skirt was accented by a bow in the back from which fell an attached panel. The honor attendant wore a darker blue crown accented with pearls and beading which secured her blue sflk illusion veil. She carried a small blue opened umbrella filled with deep pink asters, jellow pompoms, forget-me-nots, and baby's breath. The bridesmaids wore matching crowns and veils in a lighter blue and carried lighter blue umbrella bouquets. Dr.

Anthony Chila was his brother's best man. and ushers were another brother, Michael Chila. and Donald Malito. fraternity brother of the groom. Mark lati.

nephew oi the bride. was ring bearer. For the occasion of her daughter's wedding, Mrs. DeGennaro wore a wine colored crepe dress with matching jacket and a wine colored hat accented with pink flowers. Her corsage was of cymbidiums with wine throat and a mint velvet ribbon.

Mrs. Chila was lovely in a dress of beige lace with matching hat and accessories. Her corsage was a white cymbidium with brown throat and an irridescent gold ribbon. The wedding dinner for 165, out-of-town guests and members of the families, was held at 2 pm. at the Serbian Memorial Hall.

Youngstown. The reception was held that evening from 7:30 to 11 pm. at the Hall for 600 guests. The bridal colors of blue and white were featured in the reception decorations. The bride graduated with a S.

degree in education from Youngstown University where she was affiliated with Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and past secretary of the Xewman Club. She taught last semester at the Center Street School in Struthers and will be teaching in the Fontana School System. this fall Her husband is also a graduate of Youngstown Liniversity and is a past president of bis fraternity. Alpha Phi Delta. He was a member of the Newman Club for he served as treasurer.

He is currently on Bie faculty of Live Oak School, Fontana, attending California State Teachers College working towards a master's degree. Following a wedding trip to Florida, the newlyweds wifl live in Fontana. WW I Auxiliary To Host Meeting GIRARD Members of the World War I Ladies Auxiliary will be hostess to the 10th District meeting of the Thomas Masterson Barracks on Sunday. August 29, to be held at the VFW Home. Following the business meeting at 2 a covered disfa dinner will be enjoyed and members are asked to bring their own table service.

Commander Andrew Canter win be in charge assisted by Mrs. Dave Schladen. president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Marv Canter will be in charge of the refreshments.

Begin For Patricia Poling YOUNGSTOWX Fre-nuptials honoring Patricia Poling, bride- elect of Anthony Thomas, were launched recently when her mother and grandmother entertained for a shower held at the poling home, 308 Ventura Dr. Places were marked for 40 guests at shower tables centered with tiny white wedding bells. A larger wedding ben sprinkled with pink rose buds marked the bridal table, and guests were aven favors of miniature white Bibles. Special guests at the party included the mother and aunts of the groom. Bingo was enjoyed as the afternoon's entertainment with prizes going to several winners.

The mother and cousins of the prospective groom wfll be co-hostesses for the next shower Sept 12 at the Maboning Country Club. Open church will be observed for the wedding Saturday. Cortland Couple Visits Rayburn Library in Texas BONHAM. Texas Recent visitors to the Sam Rayburn Library, Bonham, were Mr. and Mrs. O. F.

Daugherty of Cortland. Ohio. They saw books, papers, and historical mementoes collected by the late House Speaker during his more than fifty years of public service to his country. The Library also contains a replica of the office Mr. Rayburn occupied during the time he served more than twice as long as any other man as Speaker of the House.

There is no admission charge to the Library which is open daily, through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 Saturday. 1 to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 2 to 5 pjn. Blackstone Council Picnic at McDonald GIRARD Mrs. Theresa Arthur was in charge when members of Daughters of America.

Thomas G. "Blackstone Council No. 133 held a familv picnic at Woodland Park in McDonald. Some 50 members and guests attended the picnic supper. Committee members included Mrs.

Dorothy McClimans, Mrs. Marilyn Mitchell and Mrs. Carol Stevens, table and refreshments; Mrs. Hevener, Mrs. Donna Coonce and Mrs.

Ella Kennedy, entertakiment- Prizes were awarded to Tina McClimans. Christine Arthur. Jimmie and Jackie Mitchell, and Mark Arthur. Also Stanley McClimans, Diane Mitchell. Sandra Hutzler and Joe Greathouse.

The group held their regular meeting August 20 in the American Legion HalL Following the business session, queen candidate for the Council Dollie Whitford. was introduced and awarded a lovely gift. Mrs. Betty Morgan, at the Eagles's Hall. Bridal games were played and prizes were won by many guests with the door prize going to Mrs. Dorothy Bonnet Place favors were miniature candy filled parasols in pink and yellow, tied with contrasting tulle with the names of the bridal couole and their wedding date. The bride-elect's table was in white with an overskirt of white njlon lace with pink rosebuds scattered over the skirt.

A green garland and sprays of red roses edged the table and a complete bridal party of dolls centered the table. The bride in white the maid of honor in red and white, the bridesmaids in pink and white with the junior bridesmaids in yellow and white. She was assisted in opening a large array of gifts by her future attendants. They are her cousin. Donna Lee Morgan as maid of honor; bridesmaids Judy McCale and Marlene Baccich of Sharon, and her sister Chartene Green.

Junior bridesmaids are her sister Patty and his sister, Kathy Martin. A buffet luncheon was served to the guests and the refreshment table was set with a lace cloth, centered with a pink floral arrangement in a pink ceramic vase. She was also a guest at a kitchen shower given by her cousin and maid of honor, on Sunday afternoon, August 15. The shower was held at Miss Morgan's home. 102 E.

Second and attended by 15 guests. Place favors were miniature picture hats, decorated in the bridal colors of white, red, pink and yellow. Bridal games were played and prizes won by several guests. Annette Mozzillo won the door prize. Sandra, daughter of Mr.
