Joseph Stringhanv through his attorney, Colonel liouek, today commenced a very important suit against the Northern Pacific Railway company. It is alleged that Mr. String-ham mado an agreement with the Wisconsin Central company whereby it was allowed the use of a tract of land on the south side for its depot and freight yards. In return the Central road, it is claimed, agreed to make this city the terminus of a freight division. This was done, but some years ago the division was removed from Oshkosh.

The complaint in the case declares that the company has forfeited its right to the use of the land because of its non fullilmentof the contract. The Northern Pacific railway company is now the lossoc of. the Wisconsin Central lino. The land In dispute consists of a largo number of lots, -which nr now verv valuable and not represented.
