Saturday, December 16, 1978 15A Sale of WTNT, WLVW awaits okay BILL SCHLEICH BUI Schleich, Barber Stylist formerly with the Barber College, is now associated with SliearA Style Skop 1016 S. Magnolia Drive (South of Sears) Men and Children Cuts Styles Ladies Haircutting Phone 877-0155 No Appointment Necessary worth as $5.7 million. Included in his assets are cattle and feed. IN ADDITION, he shares ownership with three of his brothers in stations in Breckenridge and Wadena, and Valley City. Ingstad said in his application he would sell his interests in those stations if the sale of the Tallahassee stations was approved.

Commission rules permit one person or company to own only seven AM stations, seven FM stations and five VHF and two UHF television stations. The purchase of WTNT would put Ingstad over the limit for AM ownership unless he sold some of his other stations. Ingstad could not be reached Thursday. He said in his application to the commission that WTNT would continue to offer country music, CBS network and local news, and public affairs programs. WLVW, now offering a "beautiful-music" format, would begin offering adult contemporary music, according to the application.

WTNT has been on the air since Oct. 15, 1946. Walter Weeks Broadcasting bought the station in November of 1974. WLVW went on the air as WOMA-FM July 24, 1967. It changed its call letters to WLVW in 1977.

probably would come three or four days after he received that information. IT WAS NOT immediately clear why Weeks was selling the stations. Jim Gallagher, controller for Weeks Broadcasting, referred questions about the sale to Robert Weeks, who Gallagher said had suffered a serious heart attack recently. Gallagher said Weeks was not in his office Thursday. Gallagher said Weeks' health probably was one reason he was selling the station.

An earlier offer from Gilmore Broadcasting Corp. of Kalamazoo, to buy the stations fell through when the commission turned down the sale application last August. Snowdon said the commission apparently acted on a recommendation from one of the parties involved. It was not clear which party made the request. Gilmore owns stations in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Virginia.

Snowdon said commission approval of such a sale depended on the buyer's financial solvency, lack of a criminal record and conformance with anti-trust laws. The buyer also must be a citizen of the United States and must show enough money to operate the station for one year, Snowdon said. Ingstad, of Valley City, N.D., listed his net By BRIAN RICHARDSON Democrat staff writer If the Federal Communications Commission approves, two of Tallahassee's nine commercial radio stations soon will be sold for a cool $1 million. The stations involved are WTNT-AM (1270) and WLVW-FM (95.0). Both are owned by Walter Weeks Broadcasting a Daytona Beach-based firm that owns stations in Daytona Beach, Palm Beach, West Palm Beach and Sarasota.

The prospective buyer is Robert E. Ingstad a North Dakota millionaire who owns part or all of radio stations in Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. Robert Weeks, president of Walter Weeks Broadcasting, has accepted an offer of $1 million from Ingstad for the two stations, according to information on file with the commission in Washington, D.C. In addition, Ingstad has agreed to pay Weeks $20,000 a year for five years to be a consultant for him, according to the same information. Taft Snowdon, an attorney with the commission, said Thursday that Ingstad applied for approval of the sale Oct.

Don't take for granted that assigning the mortgage to another is automatic.

The lender has a stake in who's going to repay him. Many mortgages are written which specifically prohibit this practice without the consent of the mortgage lender. The teeth will be found in an inserted acceleration clause which makes the whole balance due and payable upon sale. The bank can activate or waive this clause depending on the credit rating of the buyer, maintenance of the property or spread between original and current interest rates. If the interest spread is great don't count on a takeover mortgage.
