As the Paine Lumber com W. G. Maxcy purchased the water works plant of Beaver Dam for $70,000 Friday afternoon. The purchase was made In the interest of the bondholders of the plamt and It was only secured after sharp bidding by Heaver Dam parties who desired to get control of the plant and W. G.

Maxey, who was bidding for the bondholders. Mr. Maxcy started the ball rolling at $20,000 but the Beaver Dam parties were so determined to secure it that a call of $70,000 was necessary before the Oshkosh man landed the prize.
