Survivors include her husband; a son, Jeffrey James of Palm Desert; two daughters, Deborah Ann Clark of Palm Desert and Patricia Ellen Childs of Olympia, a brother, Bert Larson of Buffalo, N.Y; four sisters, Fern Larson, a missionary in South Africa, and Lucille White, June Reynolds and Nora Ronstrom, all of Florida Visitation will be 8-9 am.

He was born Oct 3, 1911, to Maurice Edmond and Lila Lewis English Shanahan in Los Angeles. He attended Manual Arts High 1 School and Los Angeles City College; he worked on the Colorado River Aqueduct and the Los Angeles Aqueduct in 1938, while living in Banning. During World War II he worked at the San Pedro Shipyard, and had been a mechanical engineer for Jergens Co, for 25 years.

He retired and then worked at Filmation Studios for 10 years before moving to the desert He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, the YMCA, the National Rifle Association and the Republican Party, and was past president of the Lions Club.
