M. Torrey ot Neenah was elected secretary. James McGillan of Outagamie, Democratic pol-itition of some prominence, was made one of a committee on credentials with E. P. Wilsie of Oahkosh and D.

Goodyear of Colombia. The committee reported a line of delegates from eight or ten cities and towns of Wionebago county, fire or six in Green Lake, four or five in Outagamie, one in Colombia and none from the rest of the district. A large number of green backers including Milan Ford, R. Bean and others were present bat took no part in the proceedings. A committee on resolutions was appointed consisting of C.

A. Adams of Outagamie, Jesse Cole of Winnebago, J. Underbill of Green Lake and G. C. Jackson of Colombia.

Mr. Kanouse of Appleton had written oat the resolutions and the committee returned in short order and read them to the convention. They are of the usual order, calling for the abolition of the liqnor traffic, prohibitory amendments, state and national. The resolutions were adopted and then James McGillan quietly moved to nominate Mr. T.

D. Kanoase as a candidate for Congress. The chairman quietly put the motion and it was quietly carried. Mr. Kanoase was called for and of course was greatly surprised at the nomination bat accepted it with an elegant speech.

A GESTEBAL SURRENDER. London, Sept. 14 The war office has received the following dispatch from Gen. Wolseley "Benta, Sept. 15 Gen.

Lowe has occupied Cairo. Arabi Pacha and Toulba Pacha have surrendered tnncon-ditionally. Ten thousand troops at Cairo have laid down their arms." FOB CAIRO. Alexandria, Sept. 15 The Khedive and Sir Edward Maliett, British Consul General, will proceed to Cairo as soon as the road is open.

All offers of submission must be made to the Khedive nominally, but by actual surrender to Gen Wolseley, appears that Kafr-el Dwar has not yet been occupied. Negotiations for its occupation are expected to be concluded this afternoon. The announcement that the British had entered the earth-works yesterday was a misconstruction. Only Gen. Wood and Herman rode in with a small party in consequence of a display of a flag of truce.

Roubi Facna was commandant of the troop at Mess, and is deeply implicated in the rebellion. 1- WOLSELEY IX CAIRO, London, Sept. 15. Gen. Wolseley has arrived at Cairo whence he sent the following: "Cairo, Sept.
