(Joan Williams) Joan Williams Weds Sept. 27 Clinchport Methodist Church was the scene of the wedding which united Miss Gloria Elizabeth Adams and Roger Thompson Blair in holy matrimony. Rev. Miss Barbara Thomas performed the double-ring ceremony at 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Clinton Adams of Gate City, Route 1. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Clinton Frederick Blair of Gate City, Route 2. The church was decorated with tall floor baskets of white chrysanthemums a on either side of the altar against a background of greenery and branched candelabra holding white tapers. The altar rail was intertwined with ivy and accented by a low arrangement of white chrysanthemums in the center. A program of nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Rufus R.

Rollins. The bride, given in marriage by her brother-in-law, James W. McConnell, wore a full- length gown of white silk alpaca, with fitted bodice, long sleeves and bell shaped skirt. The sabrina neckline was outlined in alencon lace motifs, and the skirt was accented witii alencon lace appliques. The skirt's bustle back extended into a chapel train.

Her veil of illusion was attached to a tiara of seed.pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations. Mrs. James W. McConnell, sister of the bride, was matron of honor.

Bridesmaid was Miss Sara Blair, sister of the bridegroom. They wore identical willow green street-length dresses with bell shaped skirts and fitted bodices featuring scoop necklines of brocaded taffeta, Their miniature circular veils were held in place by willow green halos. They carried bouquets of yellow carnations and leather leaf. Kendall Addington, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. Seating the guests were Harold Snodgrass, cousin of the bride, and Darrell Addington, cousin of the bridegroom.

The mother of the bride was attired in a Capri turquoise silk sheath with matching and a corsage of white carnations. The mother of the bride- MRS. ROGER THOMPSON BLAIR (Gloria Elizabeth Adams) groom wore a sage green brocade sheath with matching jacket and accessories. Her corsage was of yellow carnations. The wedding was directed by Mrs.

John D. Dorton. A reception was held by the bride's parents in the fellowship hall of the church. Mrs. John D.

Dorton introduced the guests and Mrs. Ann Donald directed the reception. Mrs. Jack Light kept the bride's book at a nearby table which featured a large mass arrangement of yellow and white chrysanthemums, fern and ivy, done by Mrs." L. 0.

Alley. For her traveling costume the bride chose a suit of mocha brown wool with feather hat and matching accessories. Her corsage was of white carnations taken from her bridal bouquet. The bride is a graduate of Miss Joan Preston Williams and Thomas Edgar Sexton were married at 6:30 p.m. September at Marble Point Church in Gate City, Va.

Rev. Kelly Carter performed the double-ring ceremony. The altar was decorated with three seven branched candelabra holding white tapers accented with greenery and a large basket of white chrysanthemums. Nuptial music was presented by Miss Sherry McDavid. The bride is the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Clayton Williams, Gale City. Va. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

T. E. Sexton 1845 Oakwood Drive. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a ballerina length gown of peau de soie which was re-embroidered with an alencon lace pearl neckline and tiny pearl buttons down the front.

The gown featured a bustle back and long sleeves ending in points. Her short veil of silk illusion was held in place by a pearl crown. She carried a bouquet of whits orchids surrounded by white rosebuds. Miss Louise Elliott was maid of honor. She wore a cranberry red street length dress of silk and matching accessories.

She carried a bouquet of white carnations. Max Willis was best man. Seating the guests were Jim Williams, brother of the bride; and Dwayne Bowen, cousin of the bride. The mother of the bride wore a slate blue lace dress and a white carnation corsage. The mother of the bridegroom wore a medium blue nubbed silk dress and a cors- sage of white carnations.

For her traveling costume the bride wore a pale green wool suit with matching accessories and the white orchid lifted from her bridal bouquet. T5ie bride is a graduate of Gate City High School and attended Barton's School of Hair Design. The bridegroom is a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and is employed by Tennessee Eastman Co. Ribbons Awarded The Country Garden Club met recently with Mrs. James Williams at her home on Deaderick Drive.

Mrs. Fred Kays presented the program entitled "Gathering and Preserving Dried She illustrated her talk with examples of materials that she had dried and with pictures made using pressed flowers and leaves.
