Mill Naperville. A private funeral service and burial will take place on Thursday. Bom July 11, 1927, in Chicago, he died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Edward Hospital, Naperville.

Mr. Andrae was a graduate of Northwestern University where he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi fraternity and the Engineering Honor Society. Formerly he had worked for the Stephen Chemical Company, and also as a senior environmental engineer for the DuPage County Health Department. He later founded Andrae Environmental Service, and Professional Consulting Engineering Services, Ltd. Surviving are his wife, June Andrae (nee Schuller); daughters, Barbara (Casey) Andrae-Kelly of Naperville, Nancy Andrae of Naperville, Gretchen (James Jr.) Andrae-Teal of Naperville and Gayle Andrae of Naperville; grandson, Kevin Michael Kelly; and mother-in-law, Marie Schuller of Naperville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Gladys (nee zerfahs) Andrae. He later received a B.S. degree from the University of Dayton and a M.A.

and Ph.D. from N.I.U. He was a board member of Aurora University, Merchants Bank in Aurora, the executive advisors of Northern Illinois University College of Business, Metropolitan Life Insurance Guaranty Association and the Valley Industrial Association. He served on the Illinois Life Insurance Council and was involved with various youth activities. He also was a member of the Galena and Wheaton Historical Societies.

He is survived by his wife, Anne (nee Farley); children, Jamie R. (Nancy) Flynn of New York, Nancy (Billy) Deeley of Hawaii, Chris (Valerie) Flynn of Leland, Marybeth (Scott) Rhebergen of Roselle and David (Sue) Flynn of Hoffman Estates; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anne Flynn; and brother, Jack Flynn. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

She married Sam Malambri in Chicago and he preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1990; as did her brother, Charles Kennedy; and sisters, Irene Downey, Mary Putman and Nina Davis.

A Certified Public Accountant, he was a former partner of KPMG Peat, Marwick and Mitchell. Carl G. Schaefer Services for Carl G. Schaefer, 88, of Naperville, will be held at 2 p.m, Thursday, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1550 Modaff Road, Naperville. The Rev. Terry McReynoids will officiate.

Born Oct. 17, 1909, in Chicago, he died Monday, June 8, 1998, at Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility in Naperville. Interment will be in Naperville Cemetery. Mr. Schaefer had been a resident of Naperville since 1960 when he moved from Springfield, 111.

A charter member of the Naperville Heritage Society, he helped build and reconstruct many of the buildings at the Naperville Settlement. He was also an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church since 1960. Mr. Schaefer had worked for CNA Insurance Company from 1934 until his retirement as a branch manager in 1974, and had also worked for the Springbrook and Tamarack Golf Clubs. He was an avid golfer, liked to travel, and volunteered his time as a driver for the senior citizens.

Surviving are his sons, Dale A. (Carole) Schaefer of Darien and Carl J. (Jeanette) Schaefer of Mount Gilead, Ohio; sister-in-law, Charlotte Nemitz of Bensenville; grandsons, Steven (Shalom) and David Schaefer; and granddaughters, Becca Lynn and Lora Schaefer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret M. Schaefer; parents, Paul and Eda (nee Schmidt) Schaefer; brother, Paul Schaefer; and grandson, Scott Allyn Schaefer.

Joseph Edward Sloat Jr. Prayers for Joseph Edward Ik. Sloat 80, of Arlington formerly a longtime I active resident of Buffalo Grove, will be said at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Palatine.

Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 75 N. Buffalo Grove Buffalo Grove. Born Jan.

30, 1918, in Westchester County, N.Y., he died Monday, June 8, 1998, at home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Buffalo Grove. Mr. Sloat served the people of the United State for 41 years and five months.

He had joined the Navy in 1940, and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer W2 in 1961. Following his retirement from the service he began a career -with the Federal Aviation Administration from which he retired in August of 1983. In 1958, he married Stephanie Widmanich to whom he was married for 25 years before her death. A lifetime member of the Elks Club Lodge of Arlington Heights and a life member of VFW member-at-large, he was also a former member of the Buffalo Grove Lions Club and Jaycees. Mr.

Sloat was an avid golfer, Green Bay Packer fan and Yankee fan. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Jo (Steve) Herseth of River Forest; sons, Allan (Donna) Sloat of Elk Grove Village and Steven (Lisa) Sloat of Palatine; Elizabeth and Carolyn Herseth and Sarah, Amanda, Emily and Benjamin Sloat; sister, Alice (Richard) Hickcox of Connecticut; and brother, Frank (Sally) Sloat of New Hampshire. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John R. Sloat, Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
