At a meeting held in Sebastopol Wednesday ight, with Louis Frel, presiding, nearly every grower present signed 'to join the proposed organization. Meetings will be held throughout the Sonoma being one of the largest producers of cherries. J. M. Azevedo, of Tomales was in town on business yesterday.

Harry G. Ridgeway yesterday to place their problems before Judge E. I. Butler in the Superior Court. Upon the sworn testimony of Mrs.

Ridgeway, corroborated by her husbands brother, James H. Ridgeway, that there was no other remedy. Judge Butler awarded a decree of divorce to Mrs. Ridgeway, granting to her at the same time, alimony of 100 a month and the custody of the 12 year old daughter. SHORTAGE OF GASOLINE The present shortage of gasoline js causing owners of cars much concern. At present only 5 will be sold to owners who operate cars for pleasure. MI CH DEMAND FOR LONG WOOL There is much wool stored in the big warehouse in Cloverdale, some of which was placed there last fall. It was learned yesterday from a well known Cloverdale- man that there is a demand at a good price for long wool, but buyers do not want short wool, and state that there is no market for it Hence they are urging sheep men to shear once a year and thus produce the long wool which will sell, and not have to be stored for months. A number of sheep men of the Cloverdale section will follow this advice it is said. Jack Gallagher or Pt. Reyes has bought a Buick six.

TOM stalled a distillate driven, 65-horse power engine for a caterpillar pump. The water was pumped into a reservoir and it was discovered 4he water was covered with bubbles. On applying a match the flames leaped all over the water.

Mr. Harshaw immediately set about to save the gas, and1 now all the pumping is done by usihg the gas from the well. The gas was discovered at a depth of 135 feet. The discovery has created great inteerst in that section crowds gather at night to watch the gas, which cannot be saved, burn on the top of the water. As a result of the discovery 3000 acres have been leased for a further investigation and the result is being watched with interest.

COURIER READER. Many local citizens are using water for gardens, for the reason, as they say, that as long as the overflow pipe down Park Avenue flows, which it does at night, there is more water going to waste than would save all the vegetable gardens in town. In past years the overflow pipe discharged water into the Baker street sewer long after users were warned to desist, and nobody knows the reason why. All of which leads to the query WHY? CITIZEN. ADKINS MAY RECOVER Adkins who yesterday attempted suicide, will probably recover from his wounds. He has not developed any untoward symptoms up to the present time and his condition is satisfactory to the attending surgeon. The man is not out of danger by any means, for there is still grave dager of infection in the wounds, but he is making good progress. When the danger of infection has been entirely eliminated, there is reason to believe he will make rapid progress toward recovery. Republican.

INSPECTED TWO ROCK GRANGE The Two Rock Grange had a well attended meeting Friday night when they 'received a visit from State Grange Inspector Abbott of San Jose. During the evening the grange conferred the second and fourth degrees for the benefit of the visitor. A program was given after the iness session and a banquet served. Murphy spent Sunday in San Francisco where he visited with his wife and son. He witnessed the big fire which occurred there and saw the blaze when it first started. He states that the greatest excitement prevailed and every member of the fire department was' busy fight- ing the fire.
