Hearon set up the first Lion touchdown when he went 40 yards on a reverse to the Carrabelle 10. Two plays later Dan Fields smashed 10 yards over right tackle for six points. On the first play arter the kick- I off, Hodge intercepted a pass in midfield and raced the route for Leon's second marker.

Fields went i around end for the extra point, i Early in the second quarter; Leon chalked up its third and final tally. A pass from Cook to Mathis was good for 49 yards and put the Lions on the Carrabelle 1. Terry cracked off right tackle i for the score. Cook traveled around right end for the extra point. Late in the second quarter Carrabelle came back for nine points.

Cook was trapped in the end zone for a safety and a 25 yard pass scored the Mullets' first touchdown. They bucked over for the point. Late in the third quarter Cook was trapped again in the Leon end zone for the second safety of the ball game. On the last play of the game Carrabelle went 20 yards for a touchdown and converted. This was Leon's fourth win in six starts.

On the defense Kirby, Capt Earl Brown and Johny Sheppard led the way. The Lions, however, had difficulty so'ving the 'Cane attack as Adams, Breedin and Billy Passan clicked off consistent gains. Breedin was Gainesville's top runner with 103 yards, but it was Adams' passing which kept the 'Canes clicking. He connected with eight for 13, and would have had a far better average had his receivers held his accurate tosses.

Florida's Hall, Long, Sullivan, Morris and Brooks starred. The first touchdown, in the second period, was scored by Sartini on Stevens' pass. Florida immediately started a drive downfield which ended in a TD for the young Gators. Billy Morris recovered Gii Tuckefs fumble in the end zone. The attempt at conversion failed.

Florida was credited with a safety when a pass from center to Opolko was bad and rolled out of the end zone. LSU scored a second touchdown after 12 plays in the third quarter. Undefeated Baylor Trims TCU; 40-14 WACO, Tex, Oct 29 (JP) Baylor rode high in the ranks of the na tion's undefeated teams, smother ing Texas Christian 40 to 14 with a potent offense and a tight de fense today. Texas Christian's LIndy Berry had an off day. Baylor's Adrian Burk and his pass-snatching mates were at their best, and that was the ball game. Baylor counted one touchdown in the first period, three in a big second quarter, one each in the third and fourth, plus a safety in the second to give the Horned Frogs their second setback in Southwest conference play.

Favorites Pushed In Tennis Meet MIAMI ACH, Fla, (IP) Fav ored players had a couple of close calls in the opening round of the first annual Florida Junior Tennis championship yesterday. Bill Merriam, Gainesville, top-seeded in the junior division, edged past Sam Wright, Coral Gables, while Eugene Mann, Miami Beach, seeded second, was extended to extra games in beating Gainesville's Thad Wills. Veeck Divorced By Arizona Court TUCSON, Ariz, Oct 29, (IP) Mrs Eleanor Veeck was today granted a divorce from William Veeck, jr, president of the Cleveland Indians.

She was also granted custody of their three children, William, 12, Peter, seven, and Ellen, five. Details of a property settlement were not disclosed. Spirited Battle As far as the finer points of football go, the game was a terrifically spirited battle between two teams who both appear to be a year away from the upper brackets. Gainesville, with Sonny Adams passing with pin-point precision and Billy Breedin eating up yardage on reverse plays, raced out in front 13-0 at the halftime before Johnny Westberg's Lions be-ban to roll. Hurse converted and the Lions trailed 13-9. Gainesville, driving at the start of the second half, fumbled on the Lion 49, and after a penalty rocked the Lions back five yards they began to roll.

With Gray and Ashmore carrying the mail, and getting together for a one short pass play, the, Lions moved 47 yards to the ISemlnoles Roll (Continued from Page 8) Armstrong's punt from his 40 to the Hatter 49, FSTJ moved to another score. Third Period FSTJ came out running the second half and scored in two and a half minutes after the kickoff. Maltby set up the score when he slammed into Dunne attempting to pass and prompted a fumble which Kendrick recovered on the Hatter 22. Foy got five at right tackle, and Strauss, on a half-spinner, bulled to the seven. On the next play Strauss blasted through the middle to score standing up.

Hanson's kick was wide and it was 19-0. Stetson kept fumbling and FSU kept scoring. This Hatter bobble occurred on the 10 when Williams rammed the middle. Marcus recovered on the 10. Manuel ran right end to the eight, and Parish on a reverse swept left end to score behind key blocks by TJrquhart and Morrical.

Hanson split the uprights and it was 26-0. Stetson took to the air after the kickoff and Hewitt intercepted on his own 48 and raced to the 23. Manuel spun for six and Peterson sliced off tackle and cutback for 17 yards and a score. Hanson converted and It was 33-0. Stetson stayed on the attack most of the remaining time in the period without success.

Fourth Period The teams traded the ball back and forth through the first nine minutes of the final period without a threat as fumbles and a string of penalties marred the play. A fumbled pass from center by Manuel backed the Indians up to their own one. and after a rouehing penalty Manuel punted to Broadway who returned to the I FSU 49. On the next play Hinck- ley speared Jacinskl with a pass on the sideline and the end raced to score. Williams converted and it was 33-7.

FSTJ returned the following kickoff to Stetson's 47 with Bringger running to his 30 and then lateraling to Manuel. But on the next play Odom stole the ball from Quinn and lumbered 47 yards to score.
