Injunction hearing set A Howard Superior Court 1 hear. ing is scheduled June 25 for arguments whether de permanent injunction Issued against Bruce Merritt's vehicle business. Recently, Judge Dennis Parry denied the plan commission's request for temporary injunction, which can be issued in such cases If an emergency exists. Parry inspected Merritt's operation at 1035, 1101, 1106 and 1111 W. Madison St.

and ruled that no emergency exists. Earlier this year, the Kokomo Commission filed complaint against Merritt and his wife, Aletha Kay, claiming they are operating a junkyard without having a zoning permit. The plan commission said Merritt 1 keeps abandoned vehicles, scrap materials, old tires and other debris on property at 1025, 1101, 1105 and 1111 W. Madison St. Merritt's attorney responded by saying the property is zoned for i variety of commercial uses, including site for warehouses, storage of building materials, lumber and coal storage, garages, parking lots or vehicle sales lots.

Newton Wise officiating. Entombment was in Boca Raton Masoleum. Mrs. Durrell died in her home early Sunday morning, June 7, 1981, following an extended illness. She was born in Olney, Oct.

18, 1892, the daughter of Andrew and Ida (Barker) McGath. She was married to Charles A. Durrell who died in 1976. Surviving are a son, Charles A. Durrell Jr.

of Kokomo, a daughter, Jane Durrell of Boca Raton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She had moved to Boca Raton in 1968 and was a member here of CZ, PEOP, First United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of AmerIca and American Association for Retired Persons. Tribune Planned private park here to be open to the public A new privately owned and operated park which will be open to the public will be built just west of Briarwick Apartments by Dr. Ronald Kolanko and Briarwick Associates Inc.

Kolanko told the Kokomo Plan Commission Tuesday night the two-acre park, which he hopes open this fall, will remain open to the public unless the facility is vandalized. "There are a lack of park facilities in the area and we decided wanted to do something philanthropic for the community," the developer said. "If we can keep young people out of trouble by giving them a place to recreate, we can improve the moral fiber of the community." Kolanko said the park will be known as Briarwick Athletic Field and will contain facilities for softball, basketball and football. The city park department will help plan the field, he said, but no public money will go into its development. He said the park will be surrounded by a chain link fence and Briarwick Associates Inc.
