The Columbus Pass Post, of Thursday evening, contains the following item of great interest to Coshocton county: "The state emergency board this afternoon allowed S400D to repair the washout at Dresden: for the Tomlinson dam in Licking county, and $5000 for the Walhonding levee at Coshocton. providing the people of those counties will raise an equal sum for the work." The levee appropriation referred to is the money for the construction of an embankment on the Walbonding river near the Six Mile dam. The improvement had been officially recommended with the statement th-it unless the embankment was built the the offense- canal between Roscoe and Dresden would suffer materially and the income derived by the state because of the sale of water power along the route would be cut off. changed, and valuable lands would be seriously damaged. The county commissioners some time ago agreed with the board of public works that this county would pay one-third of the cost and the state woule pay the remainder. But the board has no money and the matter went to the emergency board. The General Lybarger, Attorney P. E.

Some of these were unimportant while others could not be taken as emergency cases, and they almost killed any opportunity for favorable action on the embankment, although the statement was made by a member of the board that it was the most important matter under consideration. Even now it is not safe for the question will not be definitely settled until next Monday. It is hoped the board will grant the appropriation, for the construction of the improvement means much to res- Private Maney tarn of tke team. SAX FEKXAXDO. P.
