Prince Tech senior Sharniece Williams scored 16 in a 69-38 victory over Bullard Havens Dec. 21 and finished the game with 1,277 points, which broke the school record of her head coach, Polly Innerarity, who graduated in 1988 with 1,263. Contact William Schubert at New School, Good Result H-K Off To Fast Start With Bombaci As Coach By WILLIAM SCHUBERT COURANT STAFF WRITER Southington gymnasts will have a lot of time to work on routines before they try to extend their winning streak and eclipse their unofficial state team scoring record set last Saturday against Wethersfield. Their first opportunity to surpass 152.1 points and get their 25th win in a rowis Jan. 18 in Madison when they meet Handat 6 p.m. Southington (2-0) has not lost a two- or three-way meet, or regular season invitational, since Feb. 12, 2004.

The Blue Knights will face seven teams in six more meets before their UB Knights Invitational ends the regular season Feb. 17. The meet at Hand (1-0) will be a matchup between two defending state champions Southington in and Hand in M. Among remaining opponents, its toughest challenge could come from Glastonbury (Feb. 12), which placed fifth in the 2006 Class championships.

We ruled out the fact that score Based on results this season, Knox said he believes his winning streak most likely be threatened.

The Blue focus is on fine-tuning routines, getting healthy and aiming for another team scoring record, which rates only as an unofficial state mark because regular season results do not qualify as state records. Pat Simon, the coach at Law- Milford and a longtime member of the CIAC state gymnastics committee, said no official records are kept for regular season meets. The reason is the wide range in the subjectivity of judges, which skews team scores when compared with other meets. The only official records are kept at the class and State Open championship meets, where there are eight judges and a referee. Simon said 152.1 against Wethersfield might be the highest in state history in the regular season.

Southington considers the score a school record. This team has the potential to go after the record at the Class meet. Southington holds the official record of 151.523, set in 2005.
