ALAIMO, Ann Lucy (Bigda) Ann Lucy (Bigda) Alaimo, 83, of West Chandler Wilmington, CA, formerly of Chicopee, MA and Enfield, died on Tuesday, (July 1, 2008) at the Los Alamitos Medical Center in Los Alamitos, CA. Her beloved husband of 54 years, Frank T. Alaimo, predeceased her on Dec.

7, 2007. Born in Chicopee, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Sliwa) Bigda, she and Frank moved to California shortly after their marriage in July 1954. Ann was employed as a hairdresser for over 50 years and in her later years, she continued in her career handling several private clients until her retirement three years ago. She was also an avid reader and an active parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Church in Wilmington for many years.

Ann is survived by her sister, Evelyn T. Matyia of Vernon; three nieces and a nephew, Ann Karakla of Feeding Hills, MA, Dolores Arcott and Darlene Theroux, both of Chicopee, and Ronald Leganza of Middlefield, MA. She also leaves a brother-in-law, Frank Leganza of Belchertown, MA. and a sister-in-law, Mary Cuvellier of East Longmeadow, MA and several other nephews. Her sisters, Celia Leganza and Edna Weglarz, and her brother, Edward Bigda, predeceased her.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Tuesday, July 22, at 10 a.m. in St. Church, Enfield. Burial will follow in St. King Street Cemetery.

Andoline, our dear mother passed away peacefully on Monday, (July 14, 2008) surrounded by those who love her. Beverly was born on February 26, 1927 in Walhalla, ND.

She lived most of her life in Avon a city beloved by her where she had her own restaurant, There she pursued her passion for food and passed her love for cooking on to her son, Rick who fondly recalls kitchen memories as early as 8 years old. Every summer her son would bring her freshly picked wild blackberries, raspberries and strawberries which Beverly would use to create delicious pies. She was a talented seamstress who made her own curtains and loved to adorn her home with fresh flowers. She loved meeting people but was also very private. Beverly was an extremely hard-working woman who always knew what she wanted but was also very fun loving with a dry sense of humor.

She will be missed by many. She is survived by her son, Rick (Lydia) Nadeau; and her sister. Preceded in death by her husband, Lou Andoline; and her son, Jay. Friends are invited to call upon her family at a viewing on Saturday, July 19 from 9 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT.

A graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at St. Cemetery, Arch Road, Avon. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all of friends at Aspen Ridge Transitional Rehab, Atria Assistant Living, and Inspiration Hospice for their loving care and support. He was born in New Haven, and had been a life long resident of the Connecticut. He served his country during the Korean War and after his discharge went on to own many successful restaurants. He was predeceased by his parents, Catello and Philomena Adinolfi and his brother Anthony. Joseph is survived by his son David of Hamden; his daughter Susan Ricci (Richard) of North Palm Beach, FL; sister Angela Taylor-Sicignano of Berlin; and his former wife and friend Phyllis Adinolfi Gleason of Lake Park, FL. He also leaves behind his pride and joy, his grandchildren Miranda, Matthew, Michael, and Christiana.

BRITTON, Ellison Ellison Britton, 90 of Maitland, FL, passed away on Wednesday (June 18, 2008). Ellison was born May 4, 1918 in Hartford to parents Michael and Mary Tasillo. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Ernest Carter Britton also of Hartford and son Ernest Carter Britton, Jr. of Milford. Ellison is survived by her two daughters Ellison Furey and Hillery Reid; daughter-in-law, K.

Sandra Britton; her grandchildren Francis Furey, Michael Furey, Stephen Furey, Ernest Britton and wife Sheri Britton, John Reid and wife Kimberly Reid, Kathleen Britton, Ellison Furey, Jennifer Bond and husband Michael Bond, Amanda Britton; and three great grand daughters Sandra Britton, Kayla Britton and Shannon Reid. BABIEL, Olga Anna Olga Anna Babiel departed this world due to complications of pancreatic cancer while living with her daughter in St.

Albans, WV on Wednesday, (July 16, 2008) to enter the kingdom of heaven and join her husband Mitchell; parents, Michael and Anna Kmetz; sister, Helen Molitoris and friends in everlasting life. She was born in Newark, NJ on February 22, 1915 and moved to Stafford Springs at an early age. She attended Stafford schools from elementary through high school. While in high school she worked for the Superintendent of Schools of Stafford as a secretary. She married Mitchell Babiel on September 19, 1936 and subsequently moved to Hartford.

She worked as Assistant Purchasing Agent for the Hartford Institute of Living for ten years. She later worked as a clerk typist for Edmunds Manufacturing in Elmwood for five years. She moved to Rocky Hill in 1961 where she enjoyed her life, later becoming involved in both Rocky Hill and Wethersfield Seniors Groups. During her life, she was an avid writer of poetry and was recognized by several organizations. In November 2007, due to medical reasons she moved to St.

Albans, WV to be with her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Arlene and husband Harry Hinton; brother, Harold and wife Joey Kmetz of Stafford Springs; granddaughter, Cynthia and husband Larry Savage of Midlothian, VA; granddaughter, Shelly Pereira and partner Browning Augustine of Mathews County, VA; granddaughter, Kimberly and husband Rick Pennington of Hurricane, WV; grandson, Mitchell and wife Rhonda Pereira of Midlothian, VA; grandson, Michael and wife Deidra Pereira of Midlothian, VA; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. CARBONE, Alaine (Clark) Alaine (Clark) Carbone, 41, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of Matthew J. Carbone, passed away suddenly, Saturday (July 19, 2008). She was born March 16, 1967 in Hartford and is the daughter of Stephen W. and Susan L. (Simpson) Clark of Glastonbury.

Alaine loved life and gave life. She was mother to four children, Tyler, Vanessa, Jordan, and a few years after the death of Jordan, Martina. She was about to become a mother to a fifth child, a son who would have been born in November. She enjoyed being with her children, playing with them and caring for them. She filled her home and her hearts with laughter and love.

And any who visited felt the same joy and love while there. Alaine loved to laugh, and she had a great laugh, a hearty, contagious laugh. When she laughed, you help but laugh with her. She loved to spend time with husband, Matt, her sister, Allison, and her best-friend and neighbor, Nina, all who were so close to her. She loved the company, also of hers and extended families and friends.

She enjoyed teasing and being teased; she liked to play cards with in-laws; loved to shop with her sister and girl friends; and found such joy in having her children spend time with their cousins, aunts, and especially their grandparents. Now she is with God and with Jordan, to whom she has also brought a brother, someone Jordan can share donuts with and time on lap. family was her life, her smile and laughter will never be forgotten. And while she will be dearly missed, her love and the blessing she brought to us will remain in our hearts. Besides her husband she is survived by her three children, Tyler M.

Carbone, Vanessa C. Carbone and Martina J. Carbone, her twin sister, Allison Carpino and her husband, Angelo of Wethersfield, her father-in-law, Nicholas R. Carbone of Hartford as well as many, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of dear and close friends. She was predeceased by a son, Jordan C.

Carbone, her mother-in-law, Barbara G. Carbone and paternal grandmother, Antoinette Clark. Mary Home in West Hartford. Born in Birchtown, Nova Scotia the daughter of the late Isaac and Julia (Gregory) Acker, she was raised in Canada before moving to Massachusetts at the age of 18. She graduated from Framingham Union School of Nursing in 1932. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Muriel was a lifetime member of the St.

Francis Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, her sons, John Carangelo, Jr. and his wife Gail of Manchester, James Carangelo and his wife Lucie of Glastonbury and Jere Carangelo of West Hartford; her daughters, Dr. Jane Slagle and her husband Richard Slagle of New Canaan and Jill Ailleo and her husband Dr. Robert Ailleo of Greenwich; 10 grandchildren, Jay, Daniel and Tracey Carangelo, John and Ned Slagle, Alyssa Wade and Amanda Ailleo and Catherine, Jimmy and Jack Carangelo and three great grandchildren, Madison, Kaitlin and Andrew Carangelo.

She is additionally survived by two sisters, Vera Richardson and Janette Dinsmore of Canada. She was predeceased by her grandson, Bobby, as well as a brother Purney Acker and a sister Edna Acker. (Mank) Phyllis M. (Mank) Doyon, 81, of Pawcatuck, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, Tuesday (July 15, 2008) in the Westerly Hospital.

She was the widow of the late George J. Doyon. Born in Woolwich, ME, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Hazel (Stevens) Mank. Mrs. Doyon had been employed as a salesperson at Sears Roebuck in West Hartford, before retiring.

She was a former communicant of St. Church in Elmwood. She loved to work in her flower garden, and she was an avid NY Yankee fan. Survivors include her two daughters, Eileen A. Bacza and her husband Robert of Pawcatuck, and Renee G.

Hast of El Cajon, CA; three brothers, Elmer Mank, Jr. of Maine, Warren Mank of Florida, and Vernon Mank and his wife Alice of New Mexico; one sister, Glenys Maxson of Maine; a sister-in-law, Ida Gagnon of East Hartford, and also by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda A. Doyon; two sisters Ruth Fuller and Hazel Crooker; and also by a brother Edward Mank. Funeral Service and burial will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family.

CARON, Christopher Deans Christopher Deans Caron, 50, of Monroe, a pilot for UPS, died on Friday, (July 18, 2008) in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Hartford on March 30, 1958, he was raised in South Windsor. Mr. Caron was a member of the class of 1976 at East Catholic High School in Manchester and was a graduate of the University of Connecticut.

A retired Lt. Commander for the U. S. Navy, he was an F-14 pilot on the USS Forrestal serving his country in Operation Desert Storm. He was an avid skier and motorcyclist and enjoyed music and spending time at the cottage in Sturbridge with his family and friends.

His most cherished time was spent with his sons, Joseph and David and his wife, Angela. He was pre-deceased by his father, William and mother, Joann Caron Prescott and two infant sons. Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Angela Russo Caron, two sons, Joseph and David of Monroe, a brother, David Caron and his wife, JoAnn of South Windsor, a sister, Suzanne Caron and her partner, Becky Rehel of Bloomfield, two sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Russo of Monroe and Violet Pickney and her husband, Bill of Fort Washington, and he also leaves two nephews, Neil and Steven Caron. KORONA, Paul Steven Paul Steven Korona, 87, of Vernon, beloved husband for 63 years of Marilyn Edith (LaTourette) Korona, passed away peacefully on Thursday (July 17, 2008) at a local convalescent home. Born in Clifton, NJ on December 25, 1920, son of the late Pal and Vera Korona, he had lived in Glen Rock and Hopewell Township, NJ for many years before moving to Vernon 22 years ago.

A veteran of World War II, Paul served in the United States Marine Corps in the South Pacific as a cryptographer with the Marine Air Group 25 and was discharged as a sergeant in 1945. Paul worked in the garment industry as a purchasing agent of raw materials for many years in New York City, New Jersey and Georgia. Paul was well known for his accuracy and his ability to negotiate what was best for the company. As a young man, Paul enjoyed photography and also developed his own pictures. After retirement, he spent half the year at his home on the Cape in East Harwich, MA and he enjoyed working with his hands and fixing things around his home.

Most of all, Paul loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Vernon. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Roy Steven Korona and his wife Madelon of Centerville, VA and David Paul Korona and his wife Maurine of East Greenwich, RI; a daughter, Gail Susan Jackson of Tolland; seven grandchildren, Dawn, Danielle, Jonathan, Michelle, Steven, Julie Beth and Steven; five great grandchildren, Abigail, Thalia, Julia, Paul and Katherine. He was predeceased by a brother, Albert Korona and two sisters, Mary Korona and Elizabeth Riser. Funeral services will be private.

Born May 28, 1923 in Preston City, he was the son of the late Nikita and Sophia (Shostak) Dainiak. He had lived in Newtown for more than 45 years before moving to East Hampton 4 years ago. John was a retired mechanical engineer having worked for Avco Lycoming Textron for most of his career. He had proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp. He was a member of the VFW in Newtown, the American Legion in Newtown, a member of the Lions Club in Newtown, and was a long time member of the United Fire Company of Botsford.

Besides his wife, Grete he is survived by his two sons and their wives, John and Michele Dainiak of Merrian KS, Greg and Darlene Dainiak of East Hampton; a brother, Michael Dainiak of Ansonia; four grandchildren, Allyson, Kristin, Stephanie, and Samantha. He was predeceased by a brother, Nicholas Dainiak and two sisters, Helen Cure and Anna Fuller. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23 at 10 a.m. in the Congregational Church of East Hampton. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in East Hampton.
