The second half showed better football on the part of both teams and most of It was fought in the center of the field. Campbell and Atwell in open field work showed up well. Brookfleld failed time and time again to gain through ChiHi- cothe's line. Gordon, Chapman and Atwell doing good work on defensive. Deardorff, acting captain, played a consistent game at tackle.

JAMES Mil PASSED AWAY James McCoard died at his home in South Park Saturday night about eight o'clock of tuberculosis.

His death was expected by his family. The deceased returned to Chilli- tothe two weeks ago from New Mexi co and Texas where he had been for his health. The trip did not benefit him, and he returned lo this city to live the remainder-of his days. James McCoard was born in St. Louis May 23, 1858.

He was A printer by trade. He married in tMs city to Mrs. A. J. Harris, Jan- i.ary 17, 1906.

Besides his widow he is survived by four brothers and two sisters. The funeral was held from the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Geo. P. Sturges, pastor of Methodist church, conructing the services.
