UNO (206, 7-4 NCC) outhit the Vikings Andrea Oswald led the Vikings (13-13, 7-4) in kills with 10, but she also had 10 attack errors. Abby Schmidt had 22 digs, while Lisa Hoegh had 34 assists. Augustana ends the regular season Saturday at Minnesota State.

DWU (10-22) is 5-11 in the GPAC. USF ends its season 10-25 and 4-12. For USF, Beth Mathes had 19 kills and Juliann Schoeneman and Monica Bloyer each had 10 kills. Krystal DenBoer had 24 digs and Mathes and Schoeneman each had 10. Tarra Gacke had 28 set assists and Schoeneman 19.

DWU outhit the Cougars SDSU wins exhibition games BROOKINGS South Dakota State opened its basketball season with exhibition victories over NCAA Division II teams at Frost Arena. The SDSU men beat Southwest Minnesota State 67-64, while the women defeated Bemidji State 78-60. In the men's game, Matt Cadwell scored 23 points, Kai Williams 18 and Andy Kleinjan 12 for SDSU, which trailed 35-30 at halftime. For SMSU, Jeremy VanKlompenburg had 13 points and Ryan Krome 10. The Mustangs outrebounded SDSU 38-28.

In the women's game, SDSU pulled away from a 31-27 halftime lead. Stacie Oistad and Courtney Grim-srud each scored 16 points for SDSU, while Megan Vogel had 12. Grimsrud and Vogel each had 10 rebounds, and Andrea Verdegan had seven assists. For Bemidji, Stephanie Peterson had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Augustana wrestlers ranked 10th Augustana is ranked 10th in the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches' Association Top 20 preseason poll released Tuesday.

The Vikings return four national qualifiers, all seniors, and three All-Americans from last year's team that finished sixth at the Division II championships. All four Vikings are nationally ranked in their respective weight classes. Nate Buys is ranked No. 2 at 197 pounds after earning All-America honors at 184 last year. Austin Scarset is ranked No.

3 at 157 after finishing fourth at that weight in 2006. Canaries name pitching coach The Sioux Falls Canaries have hired former St. Paul Saints pitcher Mike Meyer to be the team's pitching coach for the 2007 season. The seven-year veteran of pro baseball is the first member of new manager Steve Shirley's staff for the upcoming year.

With 26 victories in the last three seasons, Meyer is the winningest pitcher in Saints history. He was originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 23rd round of the 2000 draft and spent 3 seasons in the Cardinals organization. FOOTBALL: The University of South Dakota, after losing to Minnesota State on Saturday, dropped from 11th to 20th in the NCAA Division II ratings. Defensive back Kevin Adams of the Sioux Falls Storm has signed with the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League. Adams, a former Minnesota State player, joined the Storm after the 10th game last season. The Storm went unbeaten and won the United Indoor Football title. GENERAL: A judge has ruled in favor of former North Dakota State sports information director George Ellis, awarding him nearly $155,000 in pay and benefits in his age discrimination lawsuit against the university.
