Manager Is Named Vannier To Head Branch At Colonia COLOMA Raoul (Van) Vannier of Lawrence has been appointed mandger the Coloma yard of Michigan Shore Lumber and Supply company. Vannier hss been employed at the Coloma yard since Jan.

1. Vannier called the appointment a "complete surprise." He said he has always been dedicated to good service and will promote good customer service at Coloma. Vannier has had between seven and eight years of experience in yard work. He was in the contracting business prior to his entry into the yard field He is married and the fattier of a married daughter, Mrs. Mike Gohs of Belvedere, and a son, Raoul who recently returned from Vietnam.

Vannier replaces Lee Richards, who has been Coloma manager, since June of 1966. Richards has been active in civic affairs since that time and was instrumental in forming the Paw Paw Lake Area Planning commission which is coordinating a study of Coloma, Water- vUet and Hagar township water and sewer needs with the Berrien County Planning commission. Richards is president of the Coloma Chamber of Commerce and headed the Michigan Week activities for the area. FAMILIES MOVE THREE OAKS -Mr. and Mrs.

Lee Crosby and daughter have left for New Holland, Pa. to' make their home. Crosby, who has accepted a position with the New Holland Imple- company in that city, left a week ago and was joined there by his family on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs.

Robert Sprague, Galien, will move to the house on Spring Creek road, vacated by the Crosbys. A graduate of Buchanan high school, Mrs. Hamilton majored in elementary education at the university and will teach fifth grade this fall in the Buchanan school system. Mrs. Hamilton, the former Janice'Rizor, is the daughter of Earl Rizor of 410 West Front street, a high school instructor. She has six children, ranging in ages from 17 toj.

RETURN TO FLORIDA THREE OAKS Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dee have returned to their home in St. Cloud, after spending most of the summer with their neice, Mrs. James Jelinek and family.

The Dees, who are former Three Oaks residents, also made a trip to El Paso, to visit their son and family, Major and Mrs. David Dee and 1 children, and visited another son, Charles Dee and family in Kalamazoo. IfBBM--Tom Clnrk Annual Water Ski Show Set Magician Lake Event Is Sunday DOWAGIAC The third annual Magician Lake Water Ski show will be held Sunday at he Blue Fin Marina near Dowagiac. Admission is free for the two shows which begin at 1 and at 4 Mrs. Bud Kraft will direct the show. She is a former member of a water ski attraction troupe in Sarasota, Fla. She will be assisted by Ray Wittorp of Chicago.

The show boat driver is Bud Kraft, who was a member of the Amercan Power Boat Association and raced boats competitively. The show will be the climax of a summer's work. This is not a ski club or association, but just a group of young people on the lake who get together during the summer to practice acts and improve skiing. EVEN A CLOWN There will be 15 acts, ranging from a clown act on wooden discs to girls' ballet. The grand finale is a six girl pyramid and two men carried far above the lake by huge kites.

Those who will participate include Ted U. and Teddy Briggs, Mrs. Donald MacArthur and daughter, Bonnie, age 10, and Mrs. Kraft, all. of Valparaiso, Jeff and Terry Wittorp, sons Mr.

and Mrs. Eugene Wittorp of Portage, Pat and Mimi Gannon, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gannon, Miss Vickie Bernard, Mel Fugett and Ray Wittorp, all of Chicago; Miss Kim Cunningham and Mike Hawks, of Dowagiac. Ed Fisher of Dowagiac will be master of ceremonies.

The charge is for violation of a Benton Harbor ordinance, but Berrien county sheriff deputies said they will also try to get a arrant authorized charging William Flood, .17, of 818 East Main street, with illegal posses- sioh of police property. The shirt has a sheriff department insignia oh the sleeves, and deputies said Flood allegedly went around the Como Inn, 243 Michigan street, Benton Harbor, rubbing the insignia and telling customers he was a county cop, how about that?" Flood said he didn't have anything else to wear, according to deputies.

Traffic Backed Up 12 Miles NEW BUFFALO A traffic jam at the 1-94 and M-339 bottleneck yesterday evening strung along for 12 miles. New Buffalo state police said traffic was bumper to bumper and moving very slow. The jam stretched from the Indiana toll road, along Indiana 39 Michigan 239 and onto 1-94. At the height of the jam at 6 p.m. Sunday cars were strung out for 12 miles.

A mile anfla half of this was on 1-94. By 9 p.m. the back-up still existed for several miles along Indiana 39. Troopers said the jam is caused by vacationers from Chicago coming off the six- lane 1-94 onto the two-lane connection to the Indiana toll- way.
